The BINS concept was set up by two local birders within Suffolk, who now provide this text - to - text information channel for many Suffolk birders using a mobile - to - mobile based platform, thanks to the support of its members by the provision of accurate and up to date information as it happens.

2016 - New Years Day Bird-race
Technically no organised event this year, but The prestigious NYD 'BINS Cup 2016' was again up for grabs for January 1st 2016, but did anyone get close to Suffolk's January 1st" record of 130 species?
The highest tally noted on the day was an impressive 111 from the Lizardland Listers, given the mild condition's it was some tally, rarest bird seen on the day was the Breydon Water Lesser Yellowlegs, which with patient and a bit of luck could be seen from Burgh Castle!
