North Warren -  Glossy Ibis reported early morning on South Marsh.

Southwold - Ring Ouzel in field south of allotments.

Thursday 19th April.

Lowestoft AreaAMERICAN BITTERN seen in flight over Share Marh at 09:45hrs and again this evening + Great Egret & 3 Grasshopper Warbler

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis on South levels + Garden Warbler & Red Kite noted.

Aldeburgh - A Goshawk was see low North over the cafe + Black Redstart still, near-by Grasshopper Warbler Town Marshes & up to 3 Red Kite in the area.

Shingle Street - 2 male Ring Ouzels noted.

Felixstowe - 29 Arctic Terns noted North off LBO.

Ixworth A Black Kite drifted low over Bowbeck (Bardwell) 2mls NNE of Ixworth at noon today, before heading north, thermalling with a Common Buzzard. Black Redstart by Heritage Green.

Great Livermere - 2 Little Gull on Broadwater Lake.

Wednesday 18th April.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN again from late afternoon seen both in flight and on the deck. Ring Ouzel flushed from Corton church yard.

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis again on the konike field. SAVI'S WARBLER singing and showing well from Island Mere between 07:00 - 07:30hrs.

Eastbridge - 3 Red Kite South together at 15:20hrs.

Havergate - Spoonbill North over the RSPB reserve.

Benhall - Red Kite over the walled garden.

Hollesley - Little Stint on the scrape at Hollesley RSPB.

Bawdsey - Tree Pipit noted between East Lane - Shingle Street + SEO.

Felixstowe - 2 Firecrest & 2 Black Redstart at LBO.

Tuesday 17th April.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still Carlton Marshes and showing well.

Westleton - Male Ring Ouzel seen at Mount Pleasant Farm.

Minsmere - The Glossy Ibis was noted on the konik field this morning. A single Hawfinch was showing well on ground at the Western end of North wall early afternoon. SAVI'S WARBLER heard during the evening from Is.mere.

Hollesley - 2 Water Pipit in full summer plumage on the scrape at Hollesley Marshes. Black Redstart along the approach track to the car park.

Bawdsey - Firecrest at the picnic site.

Trimley - Hobby & Nightingale noted at Loompit Lake. 4 Whimbrel on the managed retreat.

Dennington - Turtle Dove seen within the village.

Monday 16th April.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN was again present on Carlton Marshes though wasn't seen until gone 19:20hrs.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER Island Mere.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis still present.

Aldeburgh - Short-eared Owl over Town Marshes (photo Mark Cornish). Black Redstart (photo Ian Sutton) by the cafe.

Hollesley - Little Stint on the scrape.

Sunday 15th April.

Lowestoft Area - Despite the dense early morning fog, the AMERICAN BITTERN was seen in flight at 07:15hrs and then displaying to an Eurasian Bittern during the afternoon!! Male Hen Harrier seen over the scrape at 13:37hrs. Common Redstart Gunton church field.

Southwold - No sign of the drake Green-winged Teal on the flashes but 2 Little Gull noted, 5 Hawfinch, 28 Brambling & Ring Ouzel were seen by the sewage works & a Black Redstart was seen along Ferry Road.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER singing early morning from Island Mere.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis still by the road bridge.

Aldeburgh - A male Common Redstart was seen by the Old Pumphouse/Peggs fabricators + Brambling early morning. Town Marshes held Blue-headed & 2 White Wagtail + adult Little Gull. (photos Mark Cornish)

Deben Estuary - 3 Arctic Tern Stonner Point at high tide. Little Gull seen from Waldringfield.

Felixstowe - Hawfinch trapped & ringed at LBO (photo Will Brame) + Arctic Tern over the carpark early morning.

Trimley Marshes - 2 ad Little Gulls + Garganey on the winter flood.

Livermere - Full summer plumage Black-necked Grebe on Broadwater Lake + 4 Little Gull.

Saturday 14th April.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN again showed on Share Marsh Carlton Marsh (the bird was photo's on 30th March) also 2 Common Crane over at 07:50hrs, Ring Ouzel & Grasshopper Warbler noted. 2 Spoonbill were seen North off Pakefield Cliffs at 07:40hrs. Short-eared Owl South off Kessingland. Black Redstart at Corton Cliffs and 2 Ring Ouzel nearby new sewage works + Black Redstart. Shag at Hamilton Dock.

Southwold - A drake Green-winged Teal was found on the flash just West of old railway line at 13:20hrs (photo Brian Small) + 2 Garganey (1 drake) on the flash.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER continues to sing and show on & off from Is.mere + Hawfinch over. 3 Ring Ouzel were noted around the reserve & 2cy Glaucous GullGarganey (1 drake) remained on South levels.

Eastbridge - The adult Glossy Ibis remain.

Aldeburgh - Hobby over the town.

Boyton - Red Kite over Burrow Hill late morning. 5 Pink-footed Geese remain on Boyton Marshes.

Hollesley - 2 Little Stint, 2 Whimbrel, Blue-headed Wagtail + 12 White Wagtails on the scrape. 2 Firecrest along the river wall (photo Mark Cornish) + 1st summer Black Redstart HMP Warren Hill.

Felixstowe - A Stone Curlew was found on the beach at LBO (4th site record) also at LBO were Common Redstart, 3 Firecrest, 2 Black Redstart & Ring Ouzel. Female type Black Redstart in Suffolk Sands caravan park.

Livermere - 8 Little Gull (6 adults) on Braodwater Lake viewed from bridge.

Friday 13th April.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still present on Share Marsh Carlton Marsh SWT. Black Redstart 500 yards North of Kessingland sluice.

Reydon - Red Kite over Reydon Smere.

Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER continues to sing from Island mere reedbed. Spoonbill & Garganey on South levels + Ring Ouzel seen along the approach road to the reserve.

Aldeburgh - The adult Night Heron that was seen and photographed on 31st March was found dead on Church Fram Marsh.

Hollesley - Spoonbill seen on the scrape also Curlew Sand noted. 2 female Black Redstart seen by the car park.

Bawdsey - Tree Pipit seen at East Lane (photo John Richardson) + Firecrest & Black Redstart. Firecrest seen along the cliffs.

Felixstowe - A Black-throated Diver was seen South off LBO at 08:12hrs + male Common Redstart, Black Redstart & Ring Ouzel noted.

Trimley - 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese remain on the SWT reserve + Great Egret seen to drop in on the pool behind the reservoir.

Needham Market - 2 Garganey (1 drake) seen at Pipps Ford.

Lackford - Great Egret seen at Lackford Lakes (2nd day)

Thursday 12th April.
Reydon - Red Kite over Smere Marshes.
Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER was audible from Island at 07:30hrs then again at 17:00hrs. Hawfinch seen briefly at the South belt crossroads at 06:50hrs.
Bawdsey - Ring Ouzel & Firecrest seen along the cliffs. Firecrest + 2 Black Redstart at East Lane & Firecrest seen at quay picnic site.
Trimley - The 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese remain on the SWT reserve.
Higham - Red Kite 200 yards East of Tuddenham flyover.

Wednesday 11th April.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN remains at Carlton Marshes but didn't show until 17:02hrs when seen in flight over Share Marshes. (photo David Borderick)

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER heard reeling again from Island Mere this afternoon.

Eastbridge - Glossy Ibis still present.

Aldeburgh - COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL still present and showing well on Hazelwood Common.

Bawdsey - 5 Firecrest & 2 Black Redstart seen between East Lane / Cliffs.

Felixstowe - Ring Ouzel seen at LBO + 4 Black Redstarts present.

Tuesday 10th April.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN was again seen at Carlton Marshes and was showing well on & off.

Benacre - Black Redstart seen by the sluice.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis still present on the flood adjacent to the road bridge. Please do not park on the soft verges.

Thorpeness - 2 Firecrest seen at the old caravan park.

Aldeburgh - The long-staying COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL remains at Hazelwood Common.

Bawdsey - 2 Black Redstart & Firecrest seen at East Lane.

Felixstowe - Firecrest, Black Redstart & Continental Coal Tit seen at LBO.

Trimley - The 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese remain on the SWT reserve being seen on the summer flood. (photo Nigel Odin)

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN remained at Carlton Marshes but was very elusive today.

Felixstowe - Short-eared Owl, Firecrest & Black Redstart noted at LBO.

Stour Estuary - Bonxie off Mistley Walls.

Sunday 8th April.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN (photo John Richardson) was again present on Share Marshes Carlton Marsh SWT though was mainly seen in flight during the afternoon & evening + male Ring Ouzel.

Minsmere - 2cy Glaucous Gull on the beach + 2 adult Little Gull on East scrape.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis still present +  Black Redstart opposite Eastbridge Farm.

North Warren - Glaucous Gull on South Marsh.

Aldeburgh - COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL still showing at Hazelwood Common.

Butley Firecrest at TM367493 singing and viewed for 15 mins today at 1500 hrs in hawthorn and oak on edge of forest

Felixstowe - 2 Firecrest at LBO.

Trimley - Glaucous Gull on the reservoir at Trimley Marshes SWT.

Saturday 7th April.

Lowestoft Area - News broke late evening of a 1st for Suffolk in the form of an AMERICAN BITTERN that was seen and photographed at Carlton Marshes. Great Egret Camps Heath Marsh. Female Black Redstart at Heritage Green, Kessingland.

Dunwich - Great Egret Dunwich shore pools.

Minsmere - The Glaucous Gull (photo Andrew Moon) was again seen on South levels. Black Redstart seen by the sluice, 3 Jack Snipe from North hide & Firecrest seen in the sluice bushes.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis still present.

Hollesley - COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL (photo John Richardson) again on Upper Hollesley Common + Black Redstart in field behind Red Lodge.

Bawdsey - Black Redstart & Firecrest along the cliffs.

Trimley - Black Redstart at the SWT reserve.

Earl Soham - male Hawfinch was trapped and ringed in a private garden.

Friday 6th April.

Lowestoft Area - Black Redstart Corton old sewage works. Firecrest Kessingland sewage works.

Walberswick - Great Egret on the marshes.

Minsmere - Glaucous Gull on South levels mid pm + Black Redstart at the sluice.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis seen at 17:20hrs. Male Ring Ouzel seen in the village early morning though mobile.

Thorpeness - Glaucous Gull South offshore.

Aldringham - 15 Common Crossbill seen at Aldringham Walks.

Aldeburgh - COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL still Hazelwood Common.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese remain at Boyton Marshes.

Shinle Street - 2 Water Pipit seen along the coastal footpath towards Hollesley RSPB.

Sutton - 15 Common Crossbill over Sutton Common.

Livermere - 2cy Iceland Gull in the gull roost this evening.

Thursday 5th April.

Lowestoft Area - 2 Black Redstart at Corton old sewage works this evening. Male Black Redstart seen at the Heritage Green, Kessingland.

Dunwich - 2 Great Egrets on the shore pools.

Minsmere - Black Redstart along North wall + Jack Snipe from North Marsh. 2 Red Kites over & the Black-throated Diver was again reported off North wall.

Thorpeness - 3 Firecrest noted at the disused caravan park + Brambling over.

Aldeburgh - COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL continues to show albeit mobile and distant today. Black Redstart again by the cafe.

Felixstowe - A new Firecrest was seen at LBO.

Micklemere - Osprey seen over the reserve.

Wednesday 4th April.

Lowestoft Area - No sign of the PENDULINE TIT today from Leathes Ham. Black Redstart Corton Old sewage works + c20 White Wagtails in the area.

Dunwich/Walberswick - Great Egrets seen at Dingle Marsh & Westwood Marshes.

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis high over Is.mere mid afternoon. 2 Jack Snipe from North hide + 3 Firecrest (1 near East hide & 2 in sluice bushes) + Black Redstart.

Westleton - A Hawfinch was seen in the village.

North Warren - The first Sedge Warbler of the spring was noted.

Aldeburgh - Firecrest along the old railtrack. Black Redstart by the cafe.

Boyton - The first Yellow Wagtail of the spring was noted of the marshes.

Sutton - 18 Common Crossbill over the heath.

Felixstowe - The first Common Tern of the year was seen offshore from LBO + 3 Firecrests noted.

Trimley - 2 House Martins & 2 Swallows seen ovcer Loompit Lake.

Tuesday 3rd April.

Lowestoft Area - The male PENDULINE TIT continues to show well on & off throughout the day at Leathes Ham. 3 Hawfinch found this evening along the disused railtrack at Corton. 10 Purple Sands at Ness Point. The escaped Black Kite continues to be seen at Wrentham + 2 Red Kites.

Southwold - Black Redstart along the harbour by Mrs T's.

Minsmere - 2 Jack Snipe were viewable from North hide + redhead Smew on West scrape. Adult Little Gull on Island Mere.

Snape - 3 Garganey (2 drakes) on Botany Marshes.

Aldeburgh - The adult Night Heron was reported again 'fishing' from within the conservation area at 09:00hrs (no further details) though no further sightings of this bird throughout the day. The Glaucous Gull was again present on South Marsh North Warren. 2 Black Redstarts remain at the cafe. The COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL is still on Hazelwood Common.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese remain on Boyton Marshes.

Felixstowe - 3 Black Redstarts & Firecrest present at LBO.

Trimley Marshes - The 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese continue to show from the viewing platform.

Monday 2nd April.

Lowestoft Area - A male PENDULINE TIT was discovered this afternoon at Leathes Ham feeding on reed-mace by the tennis courts and showing well.

Southwold - Black Redstart + 5 Firecrest around the town.

Minsmere - The 2 redhead Smew were present on South scrape + Sandwich Tern, also Jack Snipe viewable from North hide. 2 Firecrest in the sluice bushes.

Eastbridge - Adult Glossy Ibis still on the flood by the road bridge.

North Warren - No sign again of the adult Night Heron but juv Glaucous Gull noted + 3 Sandwich Terns this evening.

Aldeburgh - The long-staying COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL continues to show on Hazelwood Common.

Felixstowe - White-spotted Bluethroat reported late afternoon from within roped off area near point.

Sunday 1st April.

Lowestoft Area - 2 Firecrest were present at Kessingland sewage works + Osprey reported over.

Minsmere - 2 redhead Smew remain on the scrape, 2 drake Goosander on Is.mere + Jack Snipe & Water Pipit from North hide.

Eastbridge - Glossy Ibis still on the flood.

North Warren - A Glaucous Gull was present on the beach then on South Marsh + Water Pipit.

Aldeburgh - No sign of the adult Night Heron near Church Farm caravan park. The COUES'S ARCTIC REDPOLL was seen in it's usual place. 2 Black Redstart remain by the cafe & Black Redstart along the old railtrack.

Boyton - Spoonbill on the scrape (photo David Carter) + 5 Pink-footed geese remain.

Shingle Street - 12 Corn Bunting seen on wires behind the alotments + Firecrest by the Southern side of the allotments mid afternoon.

Sutton - 25 Common Crossbill over Sutton Common.

Felixstowe - 2 Firecrest at LBO + Wheater & 2 Purple Sands on the point. Hawfinch seen along garden on Newry Avenue. (photo M Lingley)
