Lowestoft Area - 7 Black Terns on Ocean Pit, Weybread + Little Tern. Wood Sand Carlton Marshes + 35 Arctic Tern went thru SE & 3 Pom Skuas North off Corton late afternoon (16:55hrs).
Dunwich - Male Ring Ouzel seen on the heath.
Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still from Island Mere + 8 Pom Skuas North.
Sizewell - 6 Pom Skuas North offshore + Bonxie.
Iken - The 2 Cattle Egret paid another visit to Hill Farm today.
Orfordness - 3 Black-winged Stilts on the NT reserve at 16:00hrs (see below).
Boyton - 3 Black-winged Stilts were discovered on the flash shortly before 08:00hrs, 2 birds flew South at 09:30hrs (see below) with a single bird remaining until 15:20hrs when it flew North along with the 2 birds that visited Hollesley.
Hollesley - 2 Black-winged Stilts (1 male) on the scrape at Hollesley (same as the Boyton birds) + 2 Little Stint & Wood Sandpiper.
Bawdsey - Little Stint at East Lane.
Felixstowe - 21 Arctic Terns North off Landguard.
Micklemere - The Glossy Ibis continued to show today, initially from the hide then from the road-bridge + 1st summer Little Gull.
Lakenheath - Glossy Ibis was again seen on the RSPB reserve + 2 Black Tern.

Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER remains audible from Island Mere throughout the day. The 1st summer Ring-billed Gull was reported from North hide at 08:10hrs then flew South.
Boyton - Ringtail Hen Harrier at Boyton Marsh.
Hollesley - Wood Sand, Little Stint & 2 LRP on the scrape.
Bawdsey - 2 LRP & 5 Corn Bunting at East Lane.
Felixstowe - 2 Ring Ouzel at LBO.

Friday 28th April 2017.
Lowestoft Area - 2 drake Garganey on the scrape at Carlton Marshes.
Southwold - 2 Grasshopper Warblers heard reeling along North Road.
Westleton - Turtle Dove again on the heath.
Minsmere - A 1st summer Ring-billed Gull was found on the scrape at 08:50. The bird (which consist's of the 1st for Minsmere) remained on view until 10:45hrs when flew out to sea but did return to South scrape at 15:10hrs. The SAVI'S WARBLER was again heard reeling from Island Mere.
Aldringham - Ring Ouzel seen by the pillboxes at Aldringham Walks.
Hollesley - Wood Sand at Hollesley Marshes.
Bawdsey - A completely albino Lapland Bunting was seen and heard at Bawdsey Ferry by feeders then flew towards the cafe boathouse.
Melton - c40 Waxwing by the railway station this morning.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sands on the scrape at Hollesley Marshes.
Melton - 30 Waxwing seen by the railway station.
Felixstowe - 2 Ring Ouzel at Landguard + Whinchat. Whinchat at Kingsfleet + 2 Hobby.
Ipswich - Male Black Redstart along the waterfront singing from the wine rack.
Needham Market - 2 Great Egrets at Pipps Ford.
Ixworth - Adult Glossy Ibis found on the scrape at Micklemere early afternoon and was showing well.
Wednesday 26th April 2017.
Melton - 60+ Waxwing early morning by the railway station though mobile.
Felixstowe - 2 Ring Ouzel remain at Landguard.
Stour Estuary - A White-tailed Eagle was seen on the salt marsh viewable from Stutton Ness 17:20-17:25hrs then flew towards Brantham, the bird was then picked up seen sitting in tree looking West from Stutton to Stutton Mill.
Denington - Turtle Dove seen in a garden within the village.

Westleton - Turtle Dove seen along the Blythburgh Road at 09:45hrs. 2 Ring Ouzel in field left of hedge beyond 5 bar metal gate.

Lowestoft Area - 2 Common Crane South over Carlton Marshes at 12:35hrs + Blue-headed Wagtail. 3 Ring Ouzels (all males) seen by Kessingland sluice & 3 Ring Ouzel by Benacre sluice.
Southwold - 2 Common Crane were seen to fly South over Reydon at 12:50hrs.
Blythburgh - 2 Common Crane seen circling then drifted SE over Blyth estuary at 13:07hrs.
Hinton - 2cy Caspian Gull & 3 2cy Y L Gulls Hinton pigfields + Turtle Dove.
Westleton - Turtle Dove heard on the Southern side of the heath.
Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER continues to sing from the reedbed by Island Mere (heard only) + 3 Spoonbill North over the visitor centre.
Iken - 2 Cattle Egret now in summer plumage still by Hill Farm
Butley - 2 Common Crane seen circling Burrow Hill at 14:50hrs prior to landing in fields for approx 10 minutes before heading of NW and lost to view at 15:05hrs + Great Egret seen by Burrow Hill this morning.

Shingle Street - Male Ring Ouzel by Battery cottage + Short-eared Owl.

Melton - 15 Waxwing seen feeding this evening on Alder Catkins Close to the steps up the river wall opposite the railway station, earlier they had been seen by Melton cross roads.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still present from Island Mere + Grasshopper Warbler at the seaward end of North wall. Ring Ouzel in South scrape + Gt Egret. Mandarin Duck present on West scrape.
Havergate - A Dotterel was seen on Havergate Island RSPB then flew high North at 13:30hrs.
Shingle Street - Short-eared Owl.
Thursday 20th April 2017.
Lowestoft Area - A BLACK-WINGED STILT was discovered on the scrape at Carlton Marshes mid afternoon and remained until the early evening at least.
Westleton - White-tailed Eagle North seen high over Westleton Heath at 11:19hrs.
Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER remains audible from Island Mere and showing on occasions, also White-tailed Eagle North over Whin Hill at 11:15hrs, 2 Shorelark by the sluice, 2 Ring Ouzel along the North Wall and finally 2 Caspian Gull (both 2nd winter) on East scrape.
Iken - 2 Cattle Egret remain in the vicinity of Hill Farm.
Boyton - Great Egret on the flash then flew South at 09:30hrs.
Shingle Street - Cuckoo seen to fly inland late morning.
Deben Estuary - A White-tailed Eagle was see East of Kirton circling over the estuary before drifting North at 10:35hrs + Osprey North at 11:20hrs.
Trimley - An Osprey was seen over the retreat at 10:55hrs + drake Garganey seen from the viewing platform
Wednesday 19th April 2017.
Minsmere - A SAVI'S WARBLER was heard reeling from Island Mere and showing well on occasions (possibly present 3 days) + male Ring Ouzel along the North wall.
Shingle Street - Whimbrel & 2 White Wagtails noted.
Felixstowe - Up to 40 Wheatear on the common at Landguard + White Wagtail & Woodlark noted.
Lakenheath - Glossy Ibis still on the RSPB reserve.

Southwold - A male Ring Ouzel was seen in garden at the Reydon end of path from Easton Bavents. 4 Little-ringed Plover on pool in NE corner of Town Marsh.
Minsmere - Male Ring Ouzel from North wall. A hybrid Glaucous x Herring Gull was noted on South levels.
North Warren - Grasshopper Warbler noted.
Iken - 2 Cattle Egret present in fields opposite Hill Farm late afternoon.
Boyton - Ringtail Hen Harrier Boyton Marshes.
Woodbridge - 30 Waxwing briefly on Beaconsfield Road mid morning.
Trimley Marshes - The Red-rumped Swallow was again over the reservoir + drake Garganey from the viewing platform.

Great Livermere - No sign of the 2cy American Herring Gull today but 2 3cy Iceland Gulls + 3 Caspian Gull noted in the area.
Great Cornard - Presumed escape White Stork in horse field by Greys Hall.

Hollesley - 3cy Glaucous Gull + 2 2cy Caspian Gulls on the scrape at Hollesley Marshes.
Woodbridge - 6 Waxwing at the North end of Fen Meadow off Seckford Street.
Trimley Marshes - A Red-rumped Swallow was seen over the reservoir at the SWT reserve between 16:40-19:20hrs.
Bramford - Jack Snipe seen at Paper Mill Lane reedbed.
Great Livermere - The 2cy AMERICAN HERRING GULL was again noted in fields North of the pig fields between 18:56 - 19:00hrs then flew East, also noted throughout the day were 2 Iceland Gulls, Glaucous Gull, 3 2cy Caspian Gulls and a Raven at 16:45hrs. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling at Livermere Lake.
Combs Ford - Grasshopper Warbler reeling from Combs water meadows.
Little Cornard - The presumed escape White Stork remains in the horse fields at Sackers Green behind Newton Green Golf club.
Saturday 15th April 2017.
Lowestoft Area - Water Pipit Carlton Marshes.
Minsmere - Caspian Gull seen on the scrape.
Snape - Glaucous Gull seen NW of Snape on Botany Marsh early afternoon.
Iken - 2 Cattle Egret remain in the vicinity of Hill Farm.
Boyton - A Red-rumped Swallow was seen to fly West along the river wall at 15:40hrs, also a Harrier sp was noted + 2 Jack Snipe & Spoonbill on the flash.
Woodbridge - 17 Waxwing seen at the end of St. Johns Terrace early afternoon though mobile.
Combs Ford - Grasshopper Warbler present at Combs church meadow.
Great Livermere - A 2nd calendar year AMERICAN HERRING GULL was discovered on pig fields North of Livermere lake at 18:57hrs and remained until 19:35hrs when flew off. This first for Suffolk was seen by a handful of lucky birders.
Little Cornard - The presumed escaped White Stork was still present in horse paddocks near Greys Hall. The bird has atypical wing damage + pigmentation.
Lawshall - Grasshopper Warbler heard 'reeling' from Golden Wood at 05:30hrs.
Lakenheath - Glossy Ibis still present at the RSPB reserve.
Friday 14th April 2017.
Heveningham - Wryneck seen at the North end of the village at 18:00hrs by the roadside then flew over fields.
Dunwich - Ring Ouzel seen along track from Mount Pleasant.
Minsmere - Up to 4 Caspian Gull around the reserve today (2 1st winter + 3rd & 4th winter birds). Ring Ouzel along North wall & Black-throated Diver offshore.
Sizewell - 2 Black Redstart by Sizewell B.
Iken - 2 Cattle Egret by Hill Farm.
Felixstowe - The Little-ringed Plover remains on the common at LBO + White Wagtail.

Westleton - Nightingale's were heard on Westleton Heath opposite Kings Farm, near Ralph's Mill and at the East end of Hardpiece Lane.
Minsmere - Ring Ouzel along North wall + Black Redstart by the Sand Martin colony in the old car park.
Sizewell - Garden Warbler seen in scrub along the footpath to the beach South of Sizewell Hall.
Boyton - The Jack Snipe remains on the flash.
Hollesley - White Wagtail on the flooded meadow.

Lowestoft Area - The male Kentish Plover was seen again from the South wall early morning then from the hide situated on the North bank, no sign of the drake American Wigeon. 2 Common Crane circled Carlton Marshes late morning + 4 Water Pipit & Short-eared Owl on the SWT reserve.
Bawdsey - 2 Red Kite seen over RAF site heading South.
Martlesham - Drake Garganey still on pool by the sewage works.
Felixstowe - 2 Common Redstart & 2 Black Redstart seen at Landguard + Little-ringed Plover, near-by female Black Redstart see in gardens along Valley Walk.

Lowestoft Area - An American Wigeon (drake) and male Kentish Plover were seen at Breydon Water and both viewable from the South wall. 2 Ring Ouzel briefly by Corton new sewage works early morning. 2 Black Redstart at Hamilton Dock.
Wrentham - Escaped Black Kite seen at Blackfoot Farm.
Walberswick - Garganey & Little-ringed Plover at Tinkers Marsh + Whimbrel on the Blyth Estuary.
Sibton - White Stork seen over the village and appeared to land in fields North of Darsham.
Minsmere - Black Tern on Island Mere. 2 1st winter Caspian Gull on South levels.
Boyton - The Jack Snipe continues to show on the flash at Boyton though elusive + 5 Garganey (4 drake) were viewable from the river wall looking South in a dyke.
Hollesley - Drake Garganey & Little-ringed Plover seen Hollesley Marshes. 10 Waxwing Parsons Hill.

Lowestoft Area - Short-eared Owl and up to 7 Water Pipits on the scrape at Carlton Marshes.
Westleton - A Raven was seen to fly South over the Heath during the afternoon.
Hollesley - Male Blue-headed Wagtail at Hollesley Marshes.
Felixstowe - Black Redstart still present at Landguard.
Levington - 2 Short-eared Owls at the creek this evening.
Ipswich - 29 Waxwing seen mid morning feeding on mistletoe by the Colchester Rd / Sidegate Lane roundabout.
Little Cornard - The White Stork of unknown origin was still present in horse fields at Sackers Green, Newton TL909.399 until early afternoon when flew off.
Lakenheath - Both the Glossy Ibis and Great Egret remained at Lakenheath Fen RSPB on Hockwold Wash.

Minsmere - Today's highlight's included; Ring Ouzel by North bushes, 2 Garganey (1 drake) on West scrape, 2 Smew (1 drake) on chapel fields pools, 3 Yellow-legged Gull (all 2nd winter) on East scrape, Sandwich Tern & Yellow Wagtail.
