Tuesday 28th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 2 House Martin remain by the Cefas building, Pakefield. 14 Waxwing on Gresham Avenue.

Minsmere - A 2nd winter Glaucous Gull was seen on the sea off the sluice late afternoon. Ukraine rung Caspian Gull on East scrape + 3 Spoonbill & long-staying juvenile Glaucous Gull noted on South levels.

Hollesley - 3 Spoonbill on the scrape + 60 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Trimley Marshes - 2nd winter Caspian Gull on the SWT reserve + 14 Tundra Bean Geese.

Orwell Estuary - Great Northern Diver opposite Levington Creek.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe still on the reservoir.

Elveden - Great Grey Shrike still on Berner's Heath

Monday 27th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 30 Waxwing at the junction of Ribblesdale Rd / Airedale Rd. 2 House Martins by Kirkley House.

Dunwich - 3 Velvet Scoter, 4 Long-tailed Duck offshore viewable from car park.

North Warren - Spoonbill still on South Marsh.

Ipswich - 10 Waxwing feeding on mistletoe nr junction of Colchetser Rd & Sidegate Avenue.

Culford - Adult Whooper Swan remain in fields viewable from minor road between Culford & Timorth.

Sunday 26th February 2017,

Lowestoft Area - 35 Waxwing again on Stradbroke Road by the junction of Lansdowne Road. 2 House Martin by Claremont Pier early morning. 

Minsmere - 2 Smew (1 drake) on South levels + adult YLG.

North Warren - Spoonbill on South Marsh + 200 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Trimley Marshes - 14 Tundra Bean Geese still on the reservoir.

Santon Downham - Lesser-spotted Woodpecker.

Saturday 25th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 40 Waxwing on Stradbroke Road Pakefield. House Martin seen at Kirkley House at dusk.

Dunwich - Great Egret present at Dingle Marshes.

Westleton - 1+ Mealy Redpoll amongst 60+ Lesser Redpoll on the heath.

Minsmere - 2 Smew (1 drake) on pool behind Island Mere viewed distantly from Whin Hill.

North Warren - Spoonbill on South Marsh + male Snow Bunting on the beach by Haven House.

Iken - Cattle Egret in fields by Ferry Road / Sandy Lane junction.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still being seen on the scrape.

Felixstowe - 5 Greater Scaup South off Landguard.

Trimley Marshes - 6 Tundra Bean Geese remain on the reservoir at the SWT reserve.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike on Berner's Heath, Elveden + 70 Brambling. Ad Whooper Swan still in fields along back road between Culford - Timworth.

Friday 24th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - An unseasonable House Martin spent the afternoon between the Cefas building and Claremont Pier, the bird was also seen North over Benacre Broad late morning. 21 Waxwing seen along Beccles Road, Bungay. Waxwing over Pennygate Drive at 15:30hrs.

Walberswick - Bewick's Swan were seen at Tinkers Marsh (12) and in fields North of Hoist Covert (8). Great Egret seen at Walberswick Marsh + 3 Snow Bunting South along the beach. Dunwich - 5 Long-tailed Duck & 3 Velvet Scoter offshore.

Woodbridge - 17 Waxwing seen late afternoon on Theatre Road by the fire station. Greenshank viewable from Wilford bridge.

Trimley Marshes - 14 Tundra Bean Geese still on the reserve.

Ipswich - 30 Waxwings on Rushmere Road near the bowls club then by Digby Road junction. 2 Goosander (1 drake) in Christchurch Park.

Alton Water - Black-necked & Slavonian Grebes seen off Larchwood + Greater Scaup.

Stour Estuary - Great Northern Diver & Red-necked Grebe seen from Stutton ness.

Santon Downham - Lesser-spotted Woodpecker showing well 1/2 mile West of bridge.

Thursday 23rd February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 15 Purple Sands present at Ness Point.

Boyton - 8 Pink-footed Geese on Boyton Marshes.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still on the scrape of the RSPB reserve.

Ipswich - 15 Waxwing over Wherstead Road late afternoon.

Tattingstone - c20 Waxwing seen in flight by the Tattingstone Wheat Sheaf public house.

Great Livermere - 1st winter Glaucous Gull.

Wednesday 22nd February 2017.

Minsmere - The 2 Smew (1 drake) remain on the reserve + 1 Common Redpoll.

Iken - Cattle Egret in fields opposite Lincoln cattle by Sandy Lane junction at 13:50hrs.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still at Hollesley Marshes + 4 Tundra Bean & 75 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Melton - 10 Waxwing West over Melton Park early afternoon.

Woodbridge - 17 Waxwing in the car park next to the fire station in Theatre Street this afternoon.

Ipswich - 20 Waxwing by Ipswich hospital this afternoon.

Tuesday 21st February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - A juvenile Glaucous Gull or hybrid Glaucous x Herring Gull was seen North off Pakefield at 15:40hrs. 15 Waxwing seen by 19 Fleetdyke Drive. 26 Bewicks Swan East over Carlton Marshes at 08:43hrs.

Minsmere - 4+ Common Redpoll seen amongst the mixed Siskin / Lesser Redpoll flock at the Northern end of the woodland trail. 50 Eurasian White-fronted Geese South of Island Mere + 2 Smew (1 drake) remain on the reserve.

North Warren - Spoonbill present + 208 Eurasian White-fronted Geese. (Information: The recent Lime Green neck collared individual 'S16' was ringed 4th May 2016 350km NE of Moscow and last reported in the Netherland 29th Jan 2017).

Ipswich - 20 Waxwing over St Clements Foxhall Road this afternoon.

Monday 20th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - Presumed escaped Black Kite seen along the B1127 Henstead - Hulver Street Road. 30 Waxwing present on Windward Way / Broadwater Road though mobile.

Southwold - c20 Twite seen by the bailey bridge.

Dunwich - 2 Tundra Bean Geese seen at Sandymount pony field, Great Dingle + 4 Pink-footed Geese.

Minsmere - 2 Smew (1 drake) on pool behind West hide.

Aldeburgh - 40 Bewicks Swan South at 08:40hrs.

Iken - Cattle Egret still at Hill Farm.

Boyton - 9 Pink-footed & 30 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on Boyton Marshes.

Woodbridge - 18 Waxwing on Threatre Street by the fire station late afternoon.

Ipswich - 9 Waxwing over Norwich Road late morning.

Thetford - Juvenile Glaucous Gull still on Burrell Way behind the Plumb Centre outlet.

Sunday 19th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - Rough-legged Buzzard over the Dukes Head pub, Somerleyton at 12:30hrs. Hawfinch still being seen in Sotterley Park. 95 Tundra Bean Geese viewable from Breydon South wall by Humberstone Farm.

Reydon - Single Waxwing briefly on Evans Close.

Blythburgh - 2 Black-necked Grebes reported on Blyth Estuary from the hide + adult Caspian Gull.

Dunwich - 2 Great Egrets on the shore pools + 5 Long-tailed Duck & 5 Velvet Scoter offshore. 2 Tundra Bean, 4 Pink-footed Geese & 8 Bewicks Swans seen at Sandymount (Pony Pools) Dingle Marshes.

Minsmere - 2 Smew (1 drake) still on the reserve.

North Warren - 300 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on North Marsh.

Boyton - 9 Pink-footed Geese + 12 Eurasian White-fronted Geese at Boyton Marshes.

Trimley Marshes - 14 Tundra Bean Geese still on the SWT reserve.

Alton Water - Red Kite.

Culford - Single Whooper Swan seen along minor road between Culford - Timworth.

Saturday 18th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - Glaucous Gull on mud viewable from South wall.

Dunwich - 5+ Long-tailed Duck & 5 Velvet Scoter offshore.

Minsmere - Great Egret + 2 Smew (1 drake) still on pool behind West hide.

North Warren - 20 Tundra Bean Geese + 250 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on North Marsh & Spoonbill on South Marsh.

Iken - Cattle Egret still Hill Farm.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still Hollesley RSPB.

Orwell Estuary - Great Northern Diver off Levington Marina + Red Kite over.

Great Livermere - Juv Glaucous Gull in fields.

Brandon - 3 Waxwing in garden at 6 The Paddocks at 14:20hrs.

Friday 17th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - The Rough-legged Buzzard flew in to roost viewable from the Waveney Forest mound at 17:15hrs. 3 Waxwing on Burnt Hill Way & Hawfinch seen again in Sotterley Park between the stile and gate house. 95 Tundra Bean Geese + Taiga Bean Goose & 2 Eurasian White-fronted Geese viewable from Breydon South wall.

Minsmere - 2 Smew (1 drake) still present.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese on Boyton Marshes + 28 Eurasian White-fronted Geese & Short-eared Owl.

Bawdsey - 2 Purple Sands at East Lane.

Thursday 16th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 103 Tundra Bean Geese seen in fields along the South wall by Humberstone Farm + possible Taiga Bean Goose. Hawfinch seen again in Sotterley Park. 15 Waxwing seen off Beccles Rd behind Prairie Place, Bungay.

Minsmere - Great Egret seen on pools behind West hide.

Iken - Cattle Egret remains in the general area of Hill Farm.

Hollesley - Taiga Bean Geese + 10 Tundra Bean Geese on the scrape along with 66 Eurasian White-fronted Geese. The 2nd winter Glaucous Gull was also present as well 2 Spoonbill.

Woodbridge - 5 Waxwing seen near the entrance of Wyevale garden centre.

Sutton - Great Grey Shrike seen again on the heath.

Bawdsey - 2 Purple Sands at East Lane + Short-eared Owl.

Felixstowe - Long-tailed Duck South off Landguard.

Ipswich - 19 Waxwing over Ivry Street towards Valley Road shortly before 16:00hrs.

Stoke-by-Nayland - Red Kite over Golf course at 15:00hrs.

Wednesday 15th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - Hawfinch seen again in Sotterley Park. 2 Short-eared Owls at Oulton Marshes.

Minsmere - Great Egret seen on pools behind West hide. 2 Slavonian Grebes seen on the sea this morning.

Orwell Estuary - Black-throated Diver and Great Northern Diver seen from Levington Creek with the latter also being seen off Pin Mill.

Ipswich - 20 Waxwing seen feeding on berries behind Kingdom Hall car park on Knightsdale Road industrial estate.

Santon Downham - Lesser-spotted Woodpecker seen along the River Little Ouse.

Tuesday 14th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - Hawfinch seen again at Sotterley Park.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup still on the reservoir + Short-eared Owl.

Hollesley - 4 Spoonbill on the scrape late afternoon.

Sutton - The Great Grey Shrike was again seen by pig fields from Sutton Heath car park this afternoon.

Felixstowe - Adult Iceland Gull & juvenile Glaucous Gull both seen offshore from Landguard prior to 09:00hrs.

Trimley Marshes - 14 Tundra Bean Geese remain on the SWT reserve + 23 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Monday 13th February 2017.

Minsmere - Male Hen Harrier over Island Mere towards South levels.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup remains on the farm reservoir.

Felixstowe - Juvenile Glaucous Gull seen following tug boats out of the river mouth viewed from Landguard.

Orwell Estuary - Black-throated Diver showing from Stoke sailing club Freston.

Ipswich - 2 Waxwing seen on Cecila Road, Cardinal Park mid morning + single Waxwing over Neptune Quay.

Stour Estuary - 4 Slavonian Grebes in Holbrook Bay.

Sunday 12th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 36 Waxwing seen on Cornard Road, Oulton Broad at 09:30hrs then up to 40 birds on Bloodmoor Road.

Southwold - Juvenile Glaucous Gull seen on a pool in the NE corner of Town Marsh at 10:20hrs.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup still present on the farm reservoir + ringtail Hen Harrier.

Butley - Adult Caspian Gull in pigfields + Waxwing over Butley church.

Deben Estuary - 3 Whooper Swan seen over the tide mill at Woodbridge this afternoon.

Orwell Estuary - Black-throated Diver seen from Stoke sailing club. Great Northern Diver seen from both sides of the river today (Levington Marina & Hares Creek, Chelmodiston).

Stour Estuary - 2 Black-necked Grebes in Seafield Bay.

Saturday 11th February 2017.

Southwold - Purple Sand on sea defences North of the pier.

Walberswick - 2 Caspian Gull (ad & 1st winter) in North fields. 

Dunwich - Great Egret on Dingle Marshes.

Minsmere - Great Egret + 2 Smew (1 drake) still on the reserve.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup still on the farm reservoir.

Butley - Adult Caspian Gull on pigfields.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull on the scrape.

Deben Estuary - 31 Eurasian White-fronted Geese at Deben Lodge / Kingsfleet.

Felixstowe - Purple Sand at Landguard.

Flatford - Raven seen low over at 07:40hrs.

Thorington Street - Drake Smew on the reservoir.

Friday 10th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 15 Waxwing seen at Rigborough Hill, Beccles for 2nd day.

Dunwich - Offshore a Black-necked Grebe was noted at 10:23hrs + 5 Long-tailed Ducks amongst 80 Common Scoter. 2 Great Egrets were present with birds being present at Dingle Marsh & Westwood Marsh respectively + drake Greater Scaup on the shore pools.

Westleton - Ringtail Hen Harrier over the heath.

Minsmere - Great Egret again on pools behind West hide + 1st winter Glaucous Gull on South levels.

Hollesley - 2 Glaucous Gulls (1st & 2nd winter birds) on the scrape + c60 White-fronted Geese.

Felixstowe - Purple Sand still at Landguard.

Ipswich - 20 Waxwing seen briefly over Riverside Road at 07:50rs. 2 Goosander (both females) on the wilderness pond in Christchurch Park.

Stour Estuary - 2 Slavonian + Black-necked Grebe from Stutton ness along with a 1st winter Shag.

Needham Market - Single Waxwing seen in trees at the back of Needham Lake early afternoon.

Thetford - Juvenile Glaucous Gull still on Burrell Way + 1st winter Caspian Gull.

Thursday 9th February 2017.

Dunwich - Great Egret South shortly after 09:00hrs.

Minsmere - Great Egret on pool behind West hide + 2 Smew (1 drake), adult Caspian Gull & male Hen Harrier noted around the reserve.

Deben Estuary - 32 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on harvested sugar beet field at Deben Lodge.

Felixstowe - Velvet Scoter North offshore at 08:50hrs at Landguard + Purple Sandpiper.

Wednesday 8th February 2017.

Southwold - Purple Sand on sea defences North of the pier.

Minsmere - 2 Smew (1 drake) in dyke between West - South hides.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup still on the reservoir.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still present + 10 Tundra Bean Geese.

Felixstowe - Black-throated Diver on the sea off Landguard between 09:00-09:45hrs drifting South + Purple Sand.

Ipswich - 15 Waxwing over Westerfield Road at 08:00hrs.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe still present opposite Larchwood.

Stour Estuary - 3 Velvet Scoter off Stutton ness.

Barking - A Waxwing was noted in trees opposite Barking Fox at 15:20hrs.

Monday 6th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 8 Waxwing on The Avenue adjacent to no.180.

Ore Estuary - Adult Shag seen on the river opposite Havergate Island.

Iken - Cattle Egret still by Hill Farm.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup still on the reservoir.

Boyton - 9 Pink-footed Geese still on Boyton Marshes.

Hollesley - 60 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Orwell Estuary - Great Northern Diver in Thorpe Bay opposite Loompit Lake.

Bury St Edmunds - 3 Waxwing early morning by the Desira garage on Western Way.

Sunday 5th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - Rough-legged Buzzard was seen to come in to roost within the Waveney Forest at 16:40hrs + SEO & 50 Pink-footed Geese over. 2 Waxwing North calling over Corton Cliffs. 7 Purple Sands Ness Point. Hawfinch seen in Sotterley Park/

Southwold - 3 Tundra Bean, 4 Pink-footed & 50 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on Town Marshes. Waxwing Pound Corner, Wangford late afternoon.

Minsmere - 1st winter Glaucous Gull again on South levels.

Sizewell - 2 Black Redstarts by Sizewell A + 1st winter Caspian Gull offshore + 5 Goosander North.

Iken - The Cattle Egret continues to show well at Hill Farm.

Gedgrave - Drake Greater Scaup on the reservoir til 09:35hrs then flushed by a Marsh Harrier + ringtail Hen Harrier, 2 Short-eared Owl & Ruff.

Butley - Female Merlin Butley Ferry Farm.

Boyton - 9 Pink-footed Geese on Boyton Marshes.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still on the scrape + 10 Tundra Bean Geese & 60 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Shingle Street - 3 Short-eared Owls at Oxley Dairy.

Bawdsey - 2 Purple Sands at East Lane.

Trimley Marshes - 14 Tundra Bean Geese remain at the SWT reserve + 4 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Orwell Estuary - 2 1st winter Shag on the river viewable from Levington Marina + Great Northern Diver & 1st winter Shag seen from Nacton.

Stour Estuary - 3 Velvet Scoter + Black-necked Grebe in Holbrook Bay.

Saturday 4th February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 22 Waxwing on the A12/Bloodmoor Road.

Covehithe - Water Pipit seen by Covehithe Broad.

Thorpeness - `1st winter Caspian Gull on the meare.

North Warren - 24 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Slaughden - 2 Long-tailed Duck (1 on the River Alde + 1 on the sea) & Great Northern Diver South at 08:15hrs.

Iken - Cattle Egret still in fields by Hill Farm.

Boyton - 9 Pink-footed Geese on the marshes.

Hollesley - 2nd winter Glaucous Gull still present + 65 Eurasian White-fronted Geese, Bittern, Water Pipit & 7 Ruff noted.

Ipswich - 30 Waxwing SE over Woodville Road at 16:10hrs.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe showing well between Rabbets Wood - Larchwood.

Stour Estuary - Highlights between Stutton Ness - Hobrook Bay included; 7 Slavonian Grebe, Black-necked Grebe, Red-necked Grebe & 3 Velvet Scoter

Bury St Edmunds - 22 Waxwing seen early morning along Western Way.

Lakenheath - Great Egret seen at the RSPB reserve + Hen Harrier.

Friday 3rd February 2017.

Lowestoft Area - 21 Waxwing off Broadstairs Road on Langley Gardens mid afternoon + 6 Waxwing seen along The Avenue, Kirkley before flying towards Peto's Marsh.

Southwold - Bo sign of any Tundra Bean Geese on Town Marshes but 69 Eurasian White-fronted Geese present.

Minsmere - The 1st winter Glaucous Gull was again seen today + Great Egret noted.

Iken - The Cattle Egret remains by Hill Farm.

Boyton - 9 Pink-footed Geese on the marshes.

Hollesley - The 2nd winter Glaucous Gull was again seen on the scrape + 11 Tundra Bean Geese & 2 Spoonbill present.

Ipswich - 40 Waxwing SE over Woodville Road at 16:00hrs.

Bury St Edmunds - 22 Waxwing still on Western Way today though mobile.

Thursday 2nd February 2017.

Southwold - 6 Tundra Bean Geese on Town Marshes + 51 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Minsmere - 1st winter Glaucous Gull offshore between Minsmere sluice and Sizewell + Spoonbill on South levels.

Iken - Cattle Egret still by Hill Farm + 10 Waxwing briefly.

Bury St Edmunds - 22 Waxwing on Western Way.

Wednesday 1st February 2017.

Minsmere - 1st winter Glaucous Gull again offshore + Great Egret behind West hide & 6 Goosander on Island Mere.

Trimley Marshes - 14 Tundra Bean Geese still at the SWT reserve.
