Southwold - 2 drake Garganey on the flash.

Walberswick - Little Stint, Wood Sand & drake Garganey on Tinkers Marsh.

Aldeburgh - 2 Curlew Sands at Hazelwood Marhes.

Trimley SWT - 2 Little Stint on the winter flood.

Sunday 20th May.

Southwold - 2 drake Garganey on the flash.

Aldeburgh - Curlew Sand viewable at Hazelwood Marshes.

Snape - Great Egret on Botany Marsh.

Trimley SWT - Little Stint on the reserve.

Saturday 19th May.

Lowestoft Area - 7 Common Cranes over Carlton Marshes early afternoon.

Reydon - 5 Common Crane SW over village at 13:20hrs.

Walberswick - 5 Common Crane seen to land on Westwood Marh at 14:40hrs. (photo Phil Buckle).

Minsmere - Both SAVI'S and Grasshopper Warbler heard from Is.mere.

Thorpenesss - 2 Spoonbill South over the cliffs at 09:05hrs.

Aldeburgh - Grasshopper Warbler on Town Marshes. Curlew Sand noted at Hazelwood Marshes this evening.

Bawdsey - A Serin was discovered this evening is an area of no general access along the cliffs.

Trimley SWT - Short-eared Owl.

Friday 18th May.

Southwold - Drake Garganey on the flash.

Eastbridge - Male Red backed Shrike seen along the Eastbridge to Mins sluice footpath.

North Warren - Turtle Dove by the old railway cottage

Boyton - Spoonbill on the flash.

Alderton - A Swift sp sporting a white rump was seen briefly over the village 

Felixstowe - Fem Pied Flycatcher at LBO.

Thursday 17th May.

Minsmere - 1st summer Little Gull on East scrape.

Bawdsey - A Red-rumped Swallow was seen over the lagoons at East Lane between 08:40 - 09:20hrs, also 2 Corn Buntings & Tree Pipit in the area.

Needham Market - Wood Sand at Pipps Ford.

Wednesday 16th May.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN remains at Carlton Marsh SWT.

Benacre - A Hoopoe was seen in an area of no general access.

Needham Market - 2 Wood Sands at Pipps Ford.

Tuesday 15th May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still present at Carlton Marshes.

Minsmere - Cattle Egret seen in chapel field today.

Felixstowe - A splendid male Red-spotted Bluethroat was discovered by the boardwalk at Landguard and remained on site through-out the day. (photo Bill Baston & Craig Holden bottom)

Monday 14th May.

Southwold - 3 Garganey (2 drake) on the flash.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER from Island Mere.

Hollesley - The 'white-rumped' Common Swift has returned again this year and was seen to be showing well over the river wall this morning.

Trimley SWT - Osprey South over the reserve at 09:00hrs. No sign of either the Temmincks or Little Stints today.

Stutton - A Black Kite was reported over the village mid afternoon heading towards Alton Water.

Needham Market - 2 Wood Sands on Pipps Ford restoration pits.

Sunday 13th May.

Lowestoft Area - The long-staying AMERICAN BITTERN continues to sing away from the marshes at the SWT reserve Carlton Marsh.

Southwold - Wood Sand on the flash + 2 drake Garganey.

Walberswick - 3 Curlew Sands on the Blyth viewable from Tinkers + 2 Garganey (1 drake) and Wood Sand over.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still singing from the reeds at Island Mere.

Aldeburgh - The Short-eared Owl was once again seen on Town Marshes + Little-ringed Plover remains on the flash. (photo Mark Cornish).

Boyton - Short-eared Owl seen at Boyton Marshes.

Hollesley - Wood Sand at Hollesley Marsh RSPB.

Shingle Street - A Red-rumped Swallow was noted over the seawall between Shingle Street - East Lane at 07:40hrs before drifting off South.

Needham Market - 2 Wood Sands on the restoration pits at Pipps Ford.

Lackford - 2 Garganey (1 drake) on the sailing lake.

Saturday 12th May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still present on the SWT reserve at Carlton Marshes, mainly being seen in flight only and singing + drake Garganey.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still be heard from Island Mere. A Black Kite was seen to fly North over the car park at 19:15hrs.

North Warren - 2 Spoonbill North over Sputh Marsh at 07:30hrs.

Aldeburgh - Short-eared Owl & Little-ringed Plover on Town Marshes.

Trimley SWT - Temmincks Stint still on the winter flood  & Jack Snipe on the the summer flood.

Needham Market - 2 Wood Sands at Pipps Ford.

Lakenheath RSPB - A GREAT REED WARBLER was reported from the river wall by the end of the 1st plantation at 05:25hrs but was not subsequently heard or seen thereafter.

Friday 11th May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still Carlton Marshes.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still audible from Island Mere.

Trimley SWT - Temminck's Stint on the winter flood.

Boyton - A RED-THROATED PIPIT was seen in field before the new scrape viewed from along the river wall at Boyton Marshes around 09:00hrs. The bird flew onto the marsh and was lost to view + Wood Sand.

Felixstowe - Whinchat noted at LBO.

Trimley SWT - A Temminck's Stint was found early morning on the winter flood and remained all day.

Thursday 10th May.

Lowestoft Area - The long-staying AMERICAN BITTERN remains at Carlton Marshes.

Southwold - 3 Garganey (2 drake) on the flash early morning.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still audible from Is.mere.

North Warren - Grasshopper Warbler audible from South Marsh

Aldeburgh - Short-eared Owl still on Town Marshes.

Felixstowe - Osprey NE over the town at 14:50hrs.

Trimley SWT - Jack Snipe present on the summer flood.

Wednesday 9th May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still present this evening at Carlton Marshes.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still Is.mere. 2 Garganey (1 drake) present on the reserve.

Aldeburgh - A smart male Dotterel was present on Town Marshes between 08:30 - 08:50hrs before flying off North West (photo Mark Cornish) + Short-eared Owl still present. Spotted Flycatcher seen along the old railway line.

Slaughden - 3 Spoonbill South at 17:00hrs.

Ipswich - Osprey North over Broomhill at 12:40hrs. 


Tuesday 8th May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN singing again this evening.

Minsmere - Wood Sand, Spotted Redshank & 1st summer Little Gull all on East scrape.

Monday 7th May.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN was again heard singing from Carlton Marsh reserve.

Southwold - The 2 Garganey (1 drake) were again present on the flash then seen along Buss Creek.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still Island Mere. 15 Little Gull on East scrape mid afternoon + Great Egret & Spoonbill reported early am only.

North Warren - A Red-rumped Swallow was seen to fly North over Sluice Cottage at 07:04hrs.

Aldeburgh - 2 Spoonbill Hazelwood Marshes.

Hollesley - 3 Wood Sands on the flood South of the reserve.

Lackford SWT - An adult White-winged Black Tern was seen at the SWT reserve late morning before departing soon after only to be found at Great Livermere on Broad Water Lake were it remained until 15:55hrs when flew off high NE. (photos Barry Woodhouse, Mark Cornish & Darren Underwood).

Sunday 6th May.

Lowestoft Area - The male AMERICAN BITTERN continues to sing from the reedbed / juncus at Carlton Marsh.

Southwold - Drake Garganey on the flash + Whinchat.

Walberswick - Drake Garganey (same as the Southwold bird?) noted on Tinkers Marsh.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still audible from Is,mere + ad Little Gull.

Aldeburgh - 2 Grasshopper Warbler + Short-eared Owl on Town Marshes.

Hollesley - Little Stint & LRP noted at Hollesley Marsh RSPB.

Shingle Street - Ring Ouzel still in the garden of Battery Cottage. (photo John Richardson).

Needham Market - 2 Wood Sands briefly over Pipps Ford.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN was seen briefly in flight this morning and heard calling again this evening.

Southwold - 2 Garganey (1 drake) remain on the flash.

Aldeburgh - 3 Curlew Sands at Hazelwood Marshes on high tide roost.

Hollesley - 2 Spoonbill on the scrape at 08:00hrs before heading off towards Orfordness.

Icklingham - Raven seen over Icklingham Plains both this morning and again this afternoon.

Friday 4th May.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN continues to be heard calling at Carlton Marsh SWT and being seen briefly in flight.

Southwold - The pair of Garganey remain on the flash.

Westleton - Whinchat seen in the 'bowl'

North Warren - Spoonbill on South Marsh + 5 Hobby over the main reedbed.

Aldeburgh - Drake Garganey on Town Marshes.

Boyton - Turtle Dove Boyton RSPB.

Shingle Street - Ring Ouzel still at Battery Cottage.

Stowmarket - Raven seen low over Navigation Approach at 16:11hrs

Lakenheath - A pair of Garganey were noted on Ouse pond + 50+ Hobby viewable from Joist Fen.

Thursday 3rd May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN seen in flight early afternoon. Male Pied Fly's seen at Leathes Ham and Lound Lakes. 2 Whinchat Kessingland sluice.

Southwold - 2 Garganey remain on the flash.

Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER remain near Island Mere + Osprey in off at 10:00hrs & 2 Spoonbill South.

Aldeburgh - Short-eared Owl & Whinchat seen on Town Marshes. Curlew Sand seen at Haelwood Marsh (different bird to the 2 recently seen).

Trimley SWT - 2 Wood Sands on the winter flood.

Needham Market - 2 Raven seen in the Gipping Valley.

Alton Water - Red-rumped Swallow again up until 08:30hrs only + Arctic Tern.

Wednesday 2nd May.

Lowestoft Area - AMERICAN BITTERN still present at Carlton Marsh.

Southwold - 2 Garganey (1 drake) on the flash. Pied Fly in paddock South of the sewage work. Grasshopper Warbler along Buss Creek.

Felixstowe - Firecrest seen at LBO + Tree Pipit at the ferry.

Alton Water - A Red-rumped Swallow was seen off Rabbets Wood around 09:00hrs before going missing until re-found early afternoon viewable from the cafe where it was present until 15:15hrs.

Tuesday 1st May.

Lowestoft Area - The AMERICAN BITTERN was once again seen in flight over the SWT reserve Carlton Marsh. Single Waxwing seen in rear gardens in the town. Male Pied Fly along the disused railtrack at Corton this evening.

Aldeburgh - Spoonbill & Curlew Sand present at Hazelwood Marshes.

Boyton - 2 immature Spoonbill over Boyton Marsh RSPB.

Shingle Street - Ring Ouzel still in the garden of the Battery Cottage.

Bawdsey - Male Common Redstart seen at East Lane.

Felixstowe - Ring Ouzel seen at LBO. Male Black Redstart seen within the dock complex by Tomline House.

Stour Estuary - Osprey West over Flatford late morning.

Cavenham - Female Whinchat seen on Cavenham Heath
