Wednesday 31st May.

Lowestoft Area - A 1st summer Night Heron was seen in flight over Peto's Marsh Carlton Marsh SWT. Honey Buzzard high North over the A12 at Kessingland at 13:55hrs.

Dunwich - The 1st summer male Red-footed Falcon was once again present along the Southern edge of the heath hunting marshes adjacent to Docras Ditch until late morning only.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still from Island Mere + Red-footed Falcon reported from the boardwalk leading to Island Mere at 14:40hrs.

Aldeburgh - 2 Little Stints on the Town Marshes + Spoonbill over.

Brandon - Singing male Wood Warbler remains in residence along Gas House Drove at TL.799.868.

Lakenheath - The Marsh Warbler continues to sing and show well 300 yards past Joist Fen watchpoint.

Tuesday 30th May.

Lowestoft Area - Cattle Egret briefly on the scrape at Carlton Marshes.

Dunwich - A 1st summer male Red-footed Falcon spent the afternoon around the coastguard cottages.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still from Island Mere.

Aldeburgh - 2 Little Stints on Town Marshes + 1st summer Little Gull still.

Bawdsey - Quail heard singing at 07:30hrs in field between Ferry Road and the MOD.

Felixstowe - The Hooded Crow was again seen in the town, today along Langer Road by the academy school playing field at 07:10hrs.

Brandon - Wood Warbler still present at Gas House Drove.

Lakenheath - Marsh Warbler still 300 yards West of Joist Fen.

Monday 29th May.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still being heard from Is.mere.

Aldeburgh - The 1st summer Little Gull remains on Town Marsh.

Brandon - Wood Warbler still singing and showing well on Gas House Drove.

Lakenheath - Marsh Warbler still singing and showing well 300 yards beyond Joist Fen watchpoint.

Sunday 28th May.
Benacre - 1st summer Little Gull still on the broad.
Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER Is.mere.
Middleton - A Honey Buzzard was reported over the village at 16:45hrs.
Alde Estuary - Spoonbill at Hazelwood Marsh viewable from the hide. 1st summer Little Gull on Town Marsh.
Boyton - Jack Snipe on the far edge of the flash.
Sutton - A Black Kite was seen over the heath at 16:00hrs.
Brandon - Wood Warbler still performing well along Gas House Drove.
Lakenheath - The Marsh Warbler continues to show well approx 400 yards past Joist Fen watchpoint.

Saturday 27th May.

Lowestoft Area - Spoonbill Carlton Marshes.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still present + Honey Buzzard South at 11:45hrs & 2cy Caspian Gull on the scrape.

Boyton - Honey Buzzard South at 14:00hrs.

Deben Estuary - Adult male Red-footed Falcon again at Kingsfleet until 06:40hrs then flew North.

Bawdsey - A singing Blyth's Reed Warbler was found 08:55hrs by the entrance to the picnic site and remained until dusk but was extremely elusive throughout + Red-rumped Swallow briefly over Bawdsey Marshes at 08:45hrs before flying North towards the manor.

Friday 26th May.

Minsmere - 2 Cranes South over reserve at 12:40hrs.

Deben Estuary - 2 Red-footed Falcons (ad male & immature male) present this evening at Kingsfleet present 3 days. (photo courtsey of Allan King).

Brandon - Singing Wood Warbler on Gas House Drove at TL799.868.

Lakenheath - Marsh Warbler still West of Joist Fen viewpoint 400 yards beyond last gate.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still singing from Is.mere.

Aldeburgh - Wood Sand on Town Marshes + 1st summer Little Gull.

Felixstowe - Serin seen at Landguard this morning.

Trimley Marshes - 2 Little Stints on the winter flood.

Brandon - Wood Warbler along Gas House Drove

Lakenheath - Black-winged Stilt seen on Hockwold Wash though distant + Marsh Warbler remains 400 yards beyond Joist Fen watchpoint.

Wednesday 24th May.

Aldeburgh - Wood Sand on Town Marshes.

Hintlesham - A Golden Oriole was noted this morning in the SE corner of Hintlesham Great Wood.

Lakenheath - The Marsh Warbler continues to sing away & occasionally seen at Lakenheath RSPB 400 yards past Joist Fen watchpoint.

Tuesday 23rd May.

Benacre - 1st summer Little Gull still on the Broad.

Walberswick - Female Red-footed Falcon seen amongst Hobbies over Dingle Little Hill / Westwood Marsh at 10:45hrs.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER singing early morning from Island Mere.

Boyton - 2 Great Egrets on Boyton Marsh South of the river wall then flew SE at 06:05hrs.

Felixstowe - Hooded Crow rptd on the beach near Mannings.

Lakenheath - The Marsh Warbler continues to sing 400 yards beyond Joist Fen watch point + Glossy Ibis on Hockwold Wash.

Monday 22nd May.

Lowestoft Area - Bee-eater North over Mountbattern Road at 16:00hrs.

Benacre - 2 Curlew Sands on the broad + 1st summer Little Gull.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still from Island Mere.

Witnesham - Quail calling early morning from barley field.

Creeting St. Mary - Ringtail Harrier sp reported from Wissel's Farm

Lakenheath - Marsh Warbler still at Lakenheath Fen RSPB 400 yards beyond Fen Joist watchpoint.

Sunday 21st May 2017.

Benacre - Spoonbill on the pits then on the Broad.

Minsmere - The long staying SAVI'S WARBLER continues to be heard from Island Mere.

Boyton - Cattle Egret still in field with cattle by small haystack viewable from the river wall towards Butley Ferry.

Felixstowe - Curlew Sandpiper still present on the ferry saltings.

Trimley Marshes - Firecrest ringed early morning.

Lakenheath - A singing Marsh Warbler was discovered just beyond Fen Joist watch-point.

Sunday 20th May.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still being heard from Is.mere + female Red-footed Falcon rptd briefly over Whin Hill at 17:15hrs before flying off towards Westleton Heath.

North Warren - The female Red-footed Falcon was present and showing on & off until 11:00hrs only.

Alde Estuary - Raven low North & calling over Hazelwood Marshes at 11:00hrs

Boyton - Cattle Egret still present by the ferry + Turtle Dove.


Shingle Street - Short-eared Owl.

Bawdsey - 2 Corn Bunting at East Lane (photo Barry Woodhouse).

Felixstowe - Curlew Sand at the ferry saltings.

Friday 19th May.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still from Island Mere + 2 Spoonbill on South levels.

North Warren - Female Red-footed Falcon still present & showing well on Fen Marsh. (photo John Richardson).

Aldeburgh - Spoonbill on Town Marsh.

Boyton - Cattle Egret by the ferry + Turtle Dove.

Hollesley - Adult Roseate Tern seen from Hollesley Marshes at the Southern tip of Orfordness at 06:40hrs, 09:30hrs then again at 18:05hrs.

Trimley - Red-rumped Swallow over the reservoir this evening.

Thursday 18th May.

Minsmere - Honey Buzzard West over the main reedbed at 10:05hrs + 2 Spoonbill on the levels.

North Warren - Female Red-footed Falcon still present over Fen Marsh today.

Boyton - Cattle Egret remains North of Boyton flash.

Hollesley - 2 Spoonbill Hollesley Marsh RSPB early morning.

Straford St. Andrew - Honey Buzzard seen circling low over the village at 17:15hrs being mobbed by Common Buzzard & Carrion Crow.

Felixstowe - A Serin was seen briefly on the common at Landguard at 06:45hrs. A Curlew Sand was seen on the saltings at the ferry.

Wednesday 17th May.

Minsmere - Black-winged Stilt on West scrape early afternoon then viewable from Whin Hill this evening.

North Warren - Female Red-footed Falcon over the main reedbed this afternoon & showing well.

Boyton - Cattle Egret still present in cattle field by the flash.

Felixstowe - 2 Whinchat present at Landguard including a dutch ringed bird (photo Will Brame).

Kirton - Black Kite South West over the village at 11:40hrs.

Stoke-by-Nayland - Black Kite West over the village at 10:15hrs.

Badley - Turtle Dove seen by Badley church / Badley Hall Farm.

Lakenheath - Glossy Ibis still on Hockwold Wash.

Tuesday 16th May.

Snape - 1st summer Little Botany Marshes.

Boyton - The Cattle Egret remains at Boyton Marshes. (photo Jim Mountain).

Felixstowe - Hooded Crow North at Landguard just prior to 08:00hrs. 

Lakenheath - Glossy Ibis still present on Hockwold Flash + Great Egret & Osprey North at 11:05hrs. (photo Andrew Moon).

Monday 15th May 2017.

Walberswick - 3 Dotterel still present approx.400 yards West of the Bailey Bridge.

Iken - Cattle Egret still in the vicinity of Hill Farm in cattle field 1/2 way to the river wall.

Boyton - Cattle Egret on Boyton Marshes in with cattle North of the flash viewable fro the river wall.

Sunday 14th May 2017.

Walberswick - 6 Dotterel were discovered in harrowed field South of path to Tinkers Marsh approx. 400 yards West of the Bailey Bridge at 08:00hrs. (photo Andrew Moon)

Bawdsey - Firecrest seen in tamarisk on the quay point + Tree Pipit along the cliffs.

Saturday 13th May 2017.

Westleton - A probable Purple Heron flew over Meadow Marsh towards Dunwich at 18:00hrs.

Minsmere - A 2nd summer Caspian Gull was noted on the scrape this morning + 2 Spoonbill on South levels.

Orfordness - A Dotterel flew from the NT reserve and landed on Gedgrave Marshes (just South of Orford quay) at 09:15hrs though no further sign.

Hollesley - A Curlew Sand was seen at Hollesley Marshes.

Felixstowe - Whinchat on the common at Landguard.

Elveden - The White Stork still remains viewable along the A11 from the B1106 roadbridge

Lakenheath - 2 Black-winged Stilts present on Hockwold Washes + Glossy Ibis on the reserve.


Friday 12th May.

Benacre - A Little Stint was seen on the Broad.

Southwold - 2 Wood Sands still on the flash.

Alde Estuary - Spoonbill seen on Hazelwood Marshes.

Great Livermere - A full-summer plumage Black-necked Grebe was present on Broadwater Lake.

Elveden - A White Stork of unknown origin was seen along the busy A11 in fields at TL.810.794.

Lakenheath - The Glossy Ibis continues to be seen on the RSPB reserve.

Thursday 11th May.

Southwold - 2 Wood Sand + drake Garganey on the flash.

Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER continues to sing from Island Mere.

Snape - The White-tailed Eagle was again seen over Botany Marshes and appeared to land in the general vicinity of Abbey Farm around 13:00hrs.

Woodbridge - Osprey seen at Kyson Point at 16:30hrs.

Felixstowe - White Wagtail on the common at Landguard.


Wednesday 10th May.

Lowestoft Area - The Temmincks Stint remained on the scrape at Carlton Marshes + 2 Red-footed Falcons (1 male) reported & 3 Common Crane over.


Walberswick - 3 Common Cranes circling over Westwood Marshes at 10:50hrs.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still audible from Island Mere.

Hollesley - Wood Sand & Little Stint on the scrape.

Felixstowe - No sign of the Great Reed Warbler from Landguard but Ring Ouzel still present and 3 Spotted Flycatchers present.


Tuesday 9th May.

Lowestoft Area - Temmincks Stint on the scrape at Carlton Marshes late evening.

Deben Estuary - White-tailed Eagle South over Falkenham mid morning.

Felixstowe - GREAT REED WARBLER still at Landguard though mobile + Red-rumped Swallow South over the reserve & WryneckRing Ouzel and Whinchat noted.

Trimley Marshes - A 1st summer Glossy Ibis was seen from the viewing platform late morning then moved to the main lagoon.

Monday 8th May.

Snape - A White-tailed Eagle was seen on Botany Marshes early afternoon and remained for 1 hour before moving on Southwards. (photo Andrew Moon).


Felixstowe Area - The GREAT REED WARBLER was again along the Butts at Landguard showing well & off + Wryneck.

Sunday 7th May.

Walberswick - Great Egret on Tinkers Marsh.

Minsmere - Montagu's Harrier West over Bittern hide at 14:50hrs.

Havergate - 2 Dotterel on the RSPB briefly then flew South.

Felixstowe - A GREAT REED WARBLER was found mid afternoon along the Butts at Landguard and remained until dusk + Wryneck, Ring Ouzel & Whinchat on site. (photo Will Brame).

Ipswich - Wood Warbler on Purdis Heath.

Micklemere - Glossy Ibis until 08:00hrs then flew South.

Saturday 6th May.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still from Is.mere + Osprey North over the reserve.

Micklemere - Glossy Ibis still at the SWT reserve.


Friday 5th May.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER Is.mere.

Reydon - A Bee-eater was seen and photographed on Queens Road.

Minsmere - A White Stork was seen South of the reserve.

Micklemere - Glossy Ibis still present.


Tuesday 2nd May.

Minsmere - SAVI'S WARBLER still Island Mere.

Trimley Marshes - A Purple Heron was seen to alight a ditch then flew over the dock complex late afternoon.

Tattingstone - 7 Common Crane rptd North over the village at 17:45hrs.

Micklemere - Glossy Ibis still.


Monday 1st May.

Minsmere - The SAVI'S WARBLER continues to sing from Is.mere + Hoopoe rptd South of the sluice in the dunes.

Woodbridge - 13 Waxwing on Moors Way.

Micklemere - Glossy Ibis at the SWT reserve.
