Wednesday 31st

Waveney Area - Long-tailed Skua S 0730 & S 1803 (both Lowestoft) + 9 Arctic Skua S between 1800-1845. Common Redstart at the northern end of Kessingland filter beds.

Benacre - Long-tailed Skua S 1206

Covehithe - Long-tailed Skua N 0945. 4 probable Long-tailed Skua S 1005.

Southwold - An immature RED-FOOTED FALCON was seen to come in off at 0755. CORY'S SHEARWATER S at 1319. Long-tailed Skuas sightings were as follows, S 0642, 2 S 0724, S 0912, S 0951, 4 probable S 1049, 2 S 1349. Sooty Shearwater N 0745. Pied Fly & Common Redstart around the town.

Minsmere - BALEARIC SHEARWATER S 0715. Long-tailed Skua S 0708 & 2 S 0733. 2 Sooty Shearwater N 0801.

Thorpeness - BALERAIC SHEARWATER S 0721. Long-tailed Skua S 0718 & 2 S 0754. Sooty Shearwater, 2 N 0756, N 0912 & N 1108. 4 Arctic Skua S. 6 Little Gull N.

Alde Estuary - A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE was found this evening on the main flash on Town Marshes, also noted 5 juvenile Curlew Sand, 2 Little Stint, Wood Sand, 2 Spoonbill, Garganey and 5 Whinchat. Single Curlew Sand + 8 Spoonbill Hazelwood Marsh this evening.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand on the scrape.

Shingle Street - 3 Whinchat south of the Martello tower at 1430hrs.

Bawdsey (East Lane) - Long-tailed Skua N 0740. 2 S 0755. N 0840.

Tuesday 30th

Waveney Area - Common Crane offshore 0824 - 0828hrs. 6 Arctic Skua (group of 5) south off Lowestoft this evening.

Southwold - Sooty Shearwater north at 0754hrs. 4 Whinchat noted (2 boating lake & 2 Easton Bavents)

Walberswick - Pied Fly in gardens of Longstone House near beach huts.

Minsmere - 2 Whinchat north bushes.

Alde Estuary - Little Stint, 2 LRP, Spoonbill & 5 Whinchat on Town Marshes.

Slaughden - Arctic Skua (dark phase) north at 0755hrs.

Hollesley - BLYTH'S REED WARBLER trapped at a private ringing site in the village. Wood Sand still Hollesley RSPB.

Shingle Street - 4 Whinchat noted.

Lackford - Black Tern still present on the sailing lake. Osprey W over West Stow CP 15:36-15:41hrs.

Monday 29th

Waveney Area - Manx Shearwater north off Ness Point at 0655hrs

Blythburgh - No sign of the Osprey from the A12 road-bridge but Spot Red noted.

Alde Estuary - 7 Curlew Sand at Hazelwood Marshes.

Shingle Street - 3 Whinchat present.

Trimley Marshes - Highlights from the SWT reserve include 2 Wood Sand, Curlew Sand, 5 Spotted Redshank & drake Garganey.

Lackford Lakes - Black Tern over the sailing lake at the SWT reserve.

Sunday 28th

Waveney Area - Sooty Shearwater north past Denes Oval at 1143hrs

Covehithe - Sooty Shearwater north 1126hrs.

Blythburgh - Osprey still present on the Blyth Estuary.

Minsmere - Little Gull on south scrape + 2 Whinchat around the reserve.

Thorpeness - Pied Fly at the OCP.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand remain on the scrape at Hollesley RSPB.

Shingle Street - 2 Whinchat by the tennis court.

Felixstowe - Pied Fly at LBO.

Trimley Marshes - Temminck's Stint still on the reservoir though elusive at times + Curlew Sand, 6 Spot Red & Great Egret present.

Saturday 27th

Benacre - Spoonbill still on the broad + Common Redstart along track just south of Beach Farm.

Blyth Estuary - Osprey still viewable distantly from Hen Reedbeds.

Walberswick - 3 juvenile Caspian Gull at the harbour mouth + Spot Red & Great Egret on the shore pools

Dunwich - Wryneck in gorse clump on western side of footpath, 300m north of Coastguards Cottages.

Westleton - Black Redstart south of the heath quarry.

Thorpeness - Pied Fly again noted at the OCP + 14 Little Gull on sea before heading north early morning.

Alde Estuary - Highlights from around Town Marshes include Spoonbill, Wood Sand, Spot Red & Whinchat.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand on the scrape at Hollesley Marshes.

Bawdsey - 2 Whinchat at East Lane + Black Tern south offshore at 0818hrs.

Felixstowe - Pied Fly & Whinchat at LBO.

Trimley Marshes - The Temmincks Stint was again present on the reservoir at the SWT reserve

Friday 26th

Thorpeness - Pied Fly at the northern end of the old caravan park + Firecrest.

Alde Estuary - 15 Spoonbill at Hazelwood Marshes.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand still on the scrape + Spotted Redshank, also probable Curlew Sand seen briefly.

Trimley Marshes - Temminck's Stint again on the reservoir at the SWT reserve + 3 Wood Sand, 2 Garganey & 4 Spot Red.

Thursday 25th

Saxmundham - A Wryneck was photo'd in the grounds of Molletts Farm (just off the A12 before the Aldeburgh turning).

Alde Estuary - 3 Wood Sand on Town Marshes.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand on the scrape + Pied Fly along the entrance track & 2 Whinchat by the pillbox. Juvenile Black & Arctic Terns in the river mouth this evening..

Shingle Street - 4 Whinchat in the baled field.

Deben Estuary - Osprey between Waldringfield and Hemley at 1650hrs.

Felixstowe - Pied Fly at the southern end of the icky ridge.

Trimley Marshes - Temminck's Stint on the SWT late morning though mobile.

Wednesday 24th

Blythburgh - Osprey on post viewed looking distantly from Hen Reedbeds.

Walberswick - Spotted Redshank on the shore pools

Shingle Street - Pied Fly still present and showing well along the footpath south of the allotments + 3 Whinchat in the baled field.

Tuesday 23rd

Waveney Area - Black Tern north past Denes Oval at 0715hrs + 13 Black Terns south off North Denes between 18:39 - 19:15hrs. 2 Little Gull off Ness Point.

Benacre - Spoonbill on the broad. Common Redstart seen at Beach Farm and just north of the sluice.

Southwold - Black Tern north offshore at 0635hrs.

Aldeburgh - 4 Black Tern south at 1835hrs.

Alde Estuary - 6 Spoonbill Hazelwood + Spot Red. 3 Whinchat on Town Marshes.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand Hollesley Marshes + Whinchat.

Shingle Street - 4 Pied Fly (2 by the allotments and 2 Battery Cottage garden)

Monday 22nd

Waveney Area - 5 Black Tern feeding just off Links Hill at 1930hrs.

Benacre - 3 Whinchat by the sluice + Common Redstart.

Minsmere - 4 Little Gull + adult Curlew Sand on south scrape.

Alde Estuary - 8 Spoonbill Hazelwood Marshes

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand Hollesley Marshes.

Shingle Street - Whinchat still in baled field by the allotments + 2 Pied Fly.

Blyth Estuary - Osprey again on the estuary by Bulcamp Marsh.

Minsmere - Pied Fly in North Bushes, 20 Little Gull on south scrape + Whooper Swan on Is.mere.

Aldeburgh - Juvenile Caspian Gull on the beach by the fishing huts early morning.

Alde Estuary - 14 Spoonbill + Spot Red at Hazelwood Marshes + 3 Spoonbill, Wood SandWhinchat on Town Marshes.

Waveney Area - 2 Pied Fly along Marsh Lane. Wood Sand on Share Marsh scrape Carlton Marshes.

Southwold - 3 Caspian Gull (ringed juvenile + 2 2nd calendar year birds) on the beach at 07:00hrs. Pied Fly at Waters Copse.

Minsmere - 7 Little Gull on south scrape.

Yoxford - Raven over A12 S of Yoxford heading towards North Green.

Alde Estuary - 3 Spoonbill on Town Marshes briefly + Wood Sand.

Felixstowe - Wryneck still reported at LBO

Alton Water - Whinchat present behind the dam.

Rickinghall - Great Egret SW at 06:00hrs.

Redgrave/Lopham - Raven over the visitor centre just after 09:00hrs.

Friday 19th

Waveney Area - An impressive overall count of 57 Pied Fly were recorded today between Kessingland and Hopton! High counts included 22 birds present between Malsters Score / Rant Score and the North Denes & as many as 15-20 birds in Kirkley Cemetery alone, further counts included 6 in the Corton area this evening + a further 6 along Marsh Lane Kessingland this afternoon. The juvenile Garganey continues to show at Carlton Marshes.

Benacre - 2 Pied Fly at Beach Farm + 2 Spoonbill on the broad.

Southwold - 4 Pied Fly at the campsite this afternoon.

Walberswick - Wood Sand on the shore pools + Whinchat in the denes. 4 juvenile Caspian Gull at the harbour.

Minsmere - 5 Pied Fly arounf the reserve + Little Gull on south scrape.

Eastbridge - Raven north over the village late afternoon

Shingle Street - Whinchat just south of Battery Cottage.

Bawdsey - Pied Fly along the concrete track at East Lane + 3 Whinchat south of the Martello tower. Pied Fly at the picnic site.

Felixstowe - Pied Fly trapped at LBO.

Tuesday 16th

Waveney Area - 2 Pied Fly seen in Belle Vue Park Lowestoft though generally elusive + Pied Fly at Kessingland sewage works.

Benacre - 2 1st summer Spoonbill still on the broad + juvenile Arctic Tern, nearby a Pied Fly was noted at Beach Farm.

Southwold - Pied Fly at the sewage works + 3 Caspian Gull at the harbour mouth.

Minsmere - Pied Fly in the bushes along North Wall this evening.

Aldeburgh - Pied Fly still by the allotmments. 3 Spoonbill + 3 Wood Sands on Town Marsh.

Shingle Street - Pied Fly still by the allotments

Waveney Area - CASPIAN TERN present in this evening's roost at Breydon Water. Sooty Shearwater N past Lowest North Beach at 10:53 & 11:20hrs.

Southwold - 2 Osprey noted at midday. 1 flew east + 1 flew west towards Bulcamp Marshes. 4 Caspian Gull ( 1 ad + 3 juvs) along the harbour mouth wall this afternoon

Minsmere - Pied Fly in the sluice bushes + Sooty Shearwater north & 12 Black Tern south offshore.

Aldeburgh - Pied Fly by the allotments this evening.
