Thursday 28th.

Lowestoft Area - Drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL still Herringfleet Marsh + 19 Water Pipit.

Dunwich Heath - Red Kite over the heath mid morning.

North Warren - 3 Great Egrets, 2 Spoonbill & 120 Eurasian White-fronted Geese noted.

Aldeburgh - Red Kite over Town Marshes.

Snape - 4 Water Pipits Botany Marshes + Great Egret & Jack Snipe.

Woodbridge - Red Kite over Drybridge Hill at 13:30hrs.

Ipswich - 12 Waxwing again in trees by the Royal George feeding mistletoe.

Little Saxham - Red Kite over early afternoon.

Wednesday 27th.

Lowestoft Area - The drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL continues to show by the wind-pump on Herringfleet Marsh + 22 Water Pipits present. Ring-tail Hen Harrier just NE of Wrentham Old Cemetery.

Minsmere - RAVEN North over Whin Hill.

Thorpeness - 7 Goosander on the Meare.

North Warren - 3 Great Egret on South Marsh + Spoonbill.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still Thetford Forest in clearing by ride 7 at TL.820.822. Lesser-spotted Woodpecker again Santon Downham.

Tuesday 26th.

Lowestoft Area - A drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL was discovered on Herringfleet Marshes this afternoon by the wind-pump.

Minsmere - 3 Smew (1 drake) on the reserve.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese still Boyton Marshes + Whooper Swan near-by at Butley Farm.

Alton Water - Both the Great Northern Diver & Red-throated Diver remain on the reservoir.

Needham Market - RAVEN low East over Pipps Ford at [email protected]

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still Thetford Forest 3.5mls SE of Brandon + 1.5mls N of Elveden in clearing by ride nr.7 at TL.820.822. Common Crane over the A11 between Barton Mills - Red Lodge early morning. 2 Lesser-spotted Woodpecker (1 male) seen at Santon Downham.

Monday 25th.

Blythburgh - Escaped Hooded Merganser still on the estuary + Spotted Redshank.

Minsmere - 3 Smew from East hide early morning.

Bawdsey - 4 Shorelark East Lane still.

Ipswich - Jack Snipe along Bobbits Lane Belstead Brook at 16:15hrs.

Alton Water - BLACK-THROATED DIVER seen in Larchwood Bay today + Red-throated Diver off Lemons Hill bridge.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still Thetford Forest in clearing by ride 7 at TL.819.820. 2 male Lesser-spooted Woodpecker both sides of the river at Santon Downham.

Sunday 24th.

Minsmere - 2 Water Pipit on South scrape viewed from the viewing platfrom. 2 Smew (1 drake) on the reserve. 2 Caspian Gull (2cy & 3cy) on East scrape

North Warren - 3 Spoonbill still on South Marsh.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese on the marshes.

Bawdsey - 4 Shorelark still present at East Lane.

Orwell Estuary - BLACK-THROATED DIVER still on the river between the bridge and Stoke sailing club + Shag.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe on the reservoir viewable from Larchwood Bay. Red-throated Diver still showing off Lemons Hill bridge & drake Goosander at the far West end.

Lackford Lakes - The 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL was again noted in this evening's Gull roost.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike Thetford Forest 3.5mls SE of Brandon + 1.5ml North of Elveden at ride.7 in 2nd clearing on left at TL.819.820. 2 Lesser-spotted Woodpecker West of the bridge at Santon Downham. The Stone Curlew report of the year was forth-coming this morning.

Saturday 23rd.

Lowestoft Area - 18 Water Pipit reported on Herringfleet Marshes.

Walberswick - 2 Great Egret seen in flight at Westwood Marshes.

Thorpeness - 2 Great Egrets on the Meare + 17 Goosander (3 drake) (photo Lee Woods).

North Warren - 3 Spoonbill on South Marsh.

Aldeburgh - Water Pipit on Town Marshes + 2 Peregrine.

Orfordness - ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD again on the NT reserve + 2 Short-eared Owl.

Bawdsey - 4 Shorelark still East Lane on beach by the saline lagoon.

Orwell Estuary - The BLACK-THROATED DIVER continues to show between Stoke sailing club, Freston and Woolverstone Marina. Jack Snipe noted at the managed retreat at Trimley.

Brecks - 2 Lesser-spotted Woodpecker 1ml West of the birdge.

Friday 22nd.

Westleton - A large female GOSHAWK was seen circling over the common at 15:30hrs before heading North.

Havergate - 3 Spoonbill on the RSPB reserve.

Orwell Estuary - BLACK-THROATED DIVER still off Stoke sailing club + 2 Shags & a feral Pink-footed Goose was seen along The Strand.

Ipswich - 12 Waxwing along Colchester Road.

Alton Water - The Red-throated Diver continues to showing very well just West of Lemons Hill bridge.

Brecks - 3 Lesser-spotted Woodpecker at Santon Downham c1ml West of the bridge.

Thursday 21st.

Lowestoft Area - CATTLE EGRET left roost at Carlton Marsh SWT at 06:46hrs.

Dunwich - 6 Spotted Redshanks by the shorepools + Great Egret.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew still on West scrape + Caspian Gull on East scrape.

Orfordness - ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD seen between the BBC building and lighthouse between 09:15-09:20hrs then again at 09:45 opposite Orford quay.

Deben Estuary - BLACK BRANT still present between Kingsfleet & Falkenham Marshes.

Orwell Estuary - The BLACK-THROATED DIVER remains on the estuary faithful to the stretch of river between buoys 8 & 9 from Stoke sailing club + 2 Shag. Good number of Red-breasted Mergs seen along the Orwell. (photo Peter Lakey).

Ipswich - 24 Waxwing still present by The Royal George Colchester Road.

Alton Water - Red-throated Diver still West of Lemons Hill bridge.

Wednesday 20th.

Walberswick - Water Pipit on Tinkers Marsh.

Dunwich - 7 Spotted Redshank on the shore pools.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew still on the reserve + Caspian Gull.

Alde Estuary - Water Pipit on Town Marshes.

Orwell Estuary - The BLACK-THROATED DIVER continues to show along The Strand. Water Pipit East of Levington Creek at 07:50hrs + ringtail Hen Harrier.

Ipswich - 24 Waxwing again feediing on mistletoe near The Royal George, Colchester Road.

Tuesday 19th.

Lowestoft Area - CATTLE EGRET left roost at Carlton Marsh SWT at 06:51.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew still on the reserve.

Alde Estuary - GLOSSY IBIS seen on Haelwood Marshes.

Deben Estuary - The adult BLACK BRANT continues to be seen between Kingsfleet and Falkenham Marsh.

Ipswich - 20+ Waxwing still present on Colchester Road late morning feeding on mistletoe near The George public house.

Orwell Estuary - BLACK-THROATED DIVER still showing well off Stoke sailing club, Freston.

Alton Water - 2 drake Goosander + the Red-throated Diver remain West of Lemons Hill bridge.

Bury St Edmunds - 6 Waxwing still Rigsbygate Street this afternoon.

*National MEGA* - TENGMALM'S OWL at Bixter Shetland.

Monday 18th.

Aldeburgh - 3 Water Pipit on Town Marshes + 3 Eurasian White-fronted Geese.

Ipswich - The mobile Waxwing flock (24 birds) were again seen near The George, Colchester Road and on Cobham Road by Environmental Agency offices.

Orwell Estuary - The BLACK-THROATED DIVER was again present along The Strand today.

Bury St Edmunds - 6 Waxwing again on TV aerials on Rigsygate Street feeding in RAE'S yard.

Lackford SWT - The 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL was again seen in the Gull roost.

Brecks - Lesser-spotted Woodpecker Santon Downham still. 6 Common Crossbill Mayday Farm.

Sunday 17th.

Lowestoft Area - The CATTLE EGRET at Carlton Marsh SWT was seen to leave roost at 06:50hrs and head South, presumably to Walnut Tree Farm, Benacre and returned just prior to dusk on Whitecast Marsh also 3 Water PipitRazorbill still on Lake Lothing and showing very well

Dunwich - Singing Firecrest heard in Greyfriars Wood.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew still on the reserve + 8 Whooper Swan on Island Mere.

Sudbourne - The first Swallow of the year was noted over the marshes today.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese remain on the marshes.

Deben Estuary - Adult BLACK BRANT still present between Kingsfleet and Falkenham.

Ipswich - 24 Waxwing were seen on Bixley Road at 08:13hrs and what was persumably the same flock then seen on Colchester Road by The George at 10:00hrs.

Orwell Estuary - A BLACK-THROATED DIVER was discovered this morning on the river and ranged between The Strand and Woolverstone Marina then was later reported off Levington.

Bury St Edmunds - 6 Waxwing still on Tavern Lane.

Saturday 16th.

Lowestoft Area - Razorbill still showing well from ASDA Riverside Road, Lowestoft.

Dunwich - 3 Great Egret Dingle Marshes late morning.

Thorpeness - 16 Goosander on the Meare.

North Warren - 136 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on North Marsh.

Bawdsey - 4 Shorelark still present and showing well + Purple Sand on the sea defences. (photo Lee Woods)

Orwell Estuary - The wintering Curlew Sandpiper was again seen beteween Levington Marina and Loompit Lake. (photo Peter Lakey)

Lackford SWT - The KUMLIENS GULL was again present in the Gull roost from 16:00hrs.

Friday 15th.

Havergate Island - Spoonbill + Spotted Redshank on the RSPB reserve.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese still on Boyton Marshes.

Bawdsey - The 4 Shorelark were again noted at East Lane + Purple Sand & 2 Corn Bunting.

Ipswich - 20+ Waxwing were seen feeding on mistletoe along Colchester Road (near the George) late morning.

Elmsett - 2 RAVEN over the village and in the general area.

Bury St Edmunds - 3 Waxwing on Rigsbygate Street / Tavern Lane.

Lackford SWT - The 2nd winter (3cy) KUMLIENS GULL came into roost on the sailing lake at 15:55hrs. (photo Barry Woodhouse)

Brecks - A Great Grey Shrike was seen in Thetford forest in clearing off ride 7.

Thursday 14th.

Reydon - Great Egret at Hen reedbeds viewable from the 1st hide then flew over the Blyth estuary towards Tinkers Marsh.

Sizewell - Juvenile Iceland Gull again off the B outfall + Shag.

North Warren - 2 Spoonbill on South Marsh.

Boyton - 5 Pink-footed Geese Boyton Marshes.

Hollesley - 1st winter Caspian Gull on the scrape at the RSPB reserve.

Ipswich  - 20+ Waxwing again on Heath Road though mobile.

Lackford SWT - The 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL was again noted within the Gull roost on the sailing lake from 16:00hrs.

Bury St Edmunds - 6 Waxwing in Risbygate Street / Tavern Lane on TV aerials.

Wednesday 13th.

Lowestoft Area - Razorbill still viewable from ASDA this morning.

Dunwich - 2 Great Egrets on the shore pools.

Orwell Estuary - Curlew Sand again between Levington Marina & Loompit Lake.

Ipswich - 20+ Waxwing again Bixley / Heath Road area of the town early morning.

Lackford SWT - No sign again of the 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL in this evenings Gull roost but 3 Caspian Gull reported.

Tuesday 12th.

Walberswick - Great Egret & 3 Spotted Redshank seen on the marshes + 3 Snow Bunting in flight.

Thorpeness - 12 Goosander on the Meare.

North Warren - 130 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on North Marsh.

Boyton - 4 Pink-footed Geese on the marsh.

Trimley Marsh - 2 Tundra Bean Geese again on the SWT reserve + 3 Eurasian White-fronts.

Orwell Estuary - Curlew Sandpiper seen again between Levington Marina and Loompit Lake.

Ipswich - 21 Waxwing seen along Bixley / Heath Road area of the town. 4 Waxwing seen in gardens along Kingsgate Drive early afternoon then flew towards Colchester Road.

Lackford SWT - No sign of the 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL this evening but 5 1st winter Caspian Gull & 7 Yellow-legged Gulls noted.

Monday 11th.

Walbersick - 50 Bewicks Swan North over early morning + RAVEN North over Dingle Marshes at 12:30hrs.

Westleton - 2 ring-tail Hen Harriers seen over the heath at 07:30hrs.

Sizewell - Juvenile Iceland Gull again off the rigs late morning.

Boyton - 24 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on Boyton Marshes early afternoon.

Deben Estuary - The Adult BLACK BRANT is still in fields near Kingsfleet. (photo Craig Holden).

Ipswich - 20+ Waxwing seen feeding on mistletoe alongside Bixley Road early morning.

Alton Water - Red-throated Diver still West of Lemons Hill bridge.

Lackford SWT - The 3cy KUMLIENS GULL was seen to leave the Gull roost at 07:12hrs and return shortly before 16:00hrs to roost again.

Sunday 10th.

Lowestoft Area - Hawfinch over Corton new sewage works (heard only).

Minsmere - Redhead Smew on West scrape.

Westleton - Red Kite over the heath.

Leiston - 13 Bewicks Swan on Red House Lane.

Thorpeness - 12 Goosander on the Meare.

Hollesley - 31 EWFG on the scrape + 2 Whooper Swan.

Felixstowe - Purple Sand on the point at Landguard.

Trimley SWT - 2 Tundra Bean Geese reported on the reservoir still.

Lackford - The 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL as seen briefly at the SWT reserve at 14:00hrs then again from 16:45hrs + 5 Caspian Gull.

Saturday 9th.

Sizewell - Juvenile Iceland Gull again offshore before flying South.

Leiston - 13 Bewicks Swan still in fields opposite the leisure centre.

Thorpeness - 5 Goosander on the Meare.

Tunstall - Male Hen Harrier over Tunstall Common towards Butley.

Deben Estuary - Adult BLACK BRANT still in the first field North of Kingsfleet this morning.

Trimley SWT - 2 Tundra Bean Geese on the reserve + singletons of Pink-foot & Eurasian White-fronted Geese & a flyover Waxwing

Orwell Estuary - 3 Shag along the strand.

Stour Estuary - 21 Corn Bunting Erwarton.

Alton Water - The Red-throated Diver continues to show well West of Lemons Hill bridge. (photo Peter Lakey).

Lackford SWT - The 3cy KUMLIENS GULL was again present in the Gull roost from 15:50hrs, this race of Iceland Gull is the 2nd record for the county.

Bury St Edmunds - 5 Waxwing again in the Tavern Lane area of town.


Friday 8th.

Lowestoft Area - Shag & Razorbill in Lae Lothing.

Thorpeness - 40 EWFG on North Marsh, nearby 5 Goosander on Thorpeness Meare.

Leiston - 11 Bewicks Swan still along Red House Lane opposite the leisure centre.

Aldeburgh - No sign of any Tundra Bean Geese on Town Marshes but 93 EWFG present.

Bury St Edmunds - 5 Waxwing again Tavern Lane though mobile.

Lackford SWT - The KUMLIENS GULL was again noted in the Gull roost this evening + 10 Caspian Gulls present.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still North of Santon Downham by reedbeds viewed from footpath by River Little Ouse.

*National MEGA* - BLACK-BROWED ALBATROSS Lizard Point Cornwall.

Thursday 7th.

Dunwich - 4 Spotted Redshank, Jack Snipe, c20 Twite & 2 Snow Bunting by the shore pools.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew on South scrape + Water Pipit from West hide. 8 EWFG South over the levels.

Sizewell - The Iceland Gull was again seen off the B rig this afternoon.

Wednesday 6th.

Minsmere - BLACK-THROATED DIVER noted off the sluice at 14:00hrs + readhead Smew & 8 Whooper Swan on the reserve and 11 Bewicks Swan over.

Bawdsey - 4 Shorelark still East Lane by lagoon near the martello tower. Please note the car park is currently closed at East Lane.

Deben Estuary - Adult BLACK BRANT still Falkenham Marshes.

Ipswich - No sign of the Siberian Chiffchaff along Belstead Brook

Alton Water - Red-throated Diver still West of Lemons Hill bridge + 3 Goosander (1 drake)

Bury St Edmunds - 5 Waxwing still Tavern Lane though mobile.

Lackford SWT - A 2nd winter KUMLIENS GULL was on the sailing lake late afternoon

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still Santon Warren near level crossing + RAVEN nearby.

Tuesday 5th.

Lowestoft Area - Red-throated Diver Hamilton Dock.

Reydon - 62 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on St. Felix Marsh.

Walberswick - Great Egret on Tinkers Marsh + Water Pipit.

Bawdsey - 4 Shorelark still East Lane.

Deben Estuary - Adult BLACK BRANT still this afternoon in field behind Holm Hill.

Orwell Estuary - A Curlew Sandpiper was found between Levington marina and Loompit Lake (photo Will Brame).

Alton Water - Red-throated Diver still showing well West of Lemons Hill bridge.

Bury St Edmunds - 5 Waxwing still Tavern Lane early afternoon.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike 100 mts East of St. Helens picnic site at Santon Warren.

Monday 4th.

Lowestoft Area - Razorbill still Lake Lothing.

Minsmere - 3 Greater Scaup on Island Mere + redhead Smew on South scrape.

Hollesley - 68 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on the scrape.

Felixstowe - Adult Little Gull off LBO.

Bury St Edmunds - 4 Waxwing still Tavern Lane this morning.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike again at Mayday Farm.

Sunday 3rd.

Lowestoft Area - 2 Eurasian White-fronted Geese still Carlton Marshes. Razorbill in Lake Lothing.

Southwold - 11 Bewicks Swan South over the town at 10:40hrs,

North Warren - 4 Water Pipit still on North Marsh.

Aldeburgh - 6 Tundra Bean Geese on Town Marshes + 45 Eurasian White-fronted Geese. (photo Mark Cornish).

Bawdsey - The long staying Shorelarks (4) were again noted by the saline lagoon at East Lane.

Ipswich - 23 Waxwing on Ransome Road (presumably the same flock previously from Defoe Road).

Alton Water - No sign of the Great Northern Diver but the Red-throated Diver was still present and showing well.

Bury St Edmunds - 5 Waxwing still Tavern Lane behind the bus station.

Lackford SWT - The 2nd winter (3cy) KUMLIENS GULL was again this evening in Gull roost.

Lakenheath - 3 Great Egret at the Lakenheath Fen RSPB.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still and Santon Warren.

Saturday 2nd.

Lowestoft Area - Adult Caspian Gull in field opposite V C Cookes waste centre Beccles. 2 Eurasian White-fronted Geese at Carlton Marsh SWT. Shag on Lake Lothing.

Blyth Estuary - ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD was seen to head from Blyford and down the estuary and possibly landed at Tinkers Marsh.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew on North scrape.

Thorpeness - 8 Goosander (4 drake) on the Meare.

North Warren - 188 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on North Marsh + 10 Water Pipit noted from the viewing platform.

Havergate - 2 Spoonbill on the RSPB reserve.

Sudbourne - ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD over Ferry Farm at 15:05hrs.

Boyton - 6 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on the marshes.

Deben Estuary - BLACK BRANT still between the ferry and Falkenham Marshes + PBBG.

Ipswich - 24 Waxwing still Defoe Road though mobile.

Alton Water - Great Northern Diver seen from the wonder + Red-throated Diver.

Stour Estuary - 9 Corn Bunting seen by the Queend Head Ewarton.

Little Blakenham - Female Merlin seen hunting over fields this morning.

Sudbury - Whooper Swan seen on Sudbury flood meadow.

Bury St Edmunds - 5 Waxwing still Tavern Lane.

Lackford SWT - A presumed KUMLIENS GULL was seen in the Gull roost this evening + 3 Caspian GullMealy Redpoll on the feeders at the SWT reserve.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still Santon Warren.

Friday 1st.

Minsmere - Redhead Smew on West scrape.

Deben Estuary - The adult BLACK BRANT remain on the first field beyond the first stile and saltings by Felixstowe Ferry. (photo Will Brame).

Martlesham - 4 Waxwing over Gloster Road.

Ipswich - 26 Waxwing still on Defoe Road.

Orwell Estuary - Shag near the bridge + c40 Red breasted Merganser.

Alton Water - Great Northern Diver on the reservoir opposite the hide.

Bury St Edmunds - 4 Waxwing still on Tavern Lane. Single Waxwing seen on the Morton Hall Ind Estate this afternoon on Mortimer Rd.

Brecks - Great Grey Shrike still Santon Downhan warren viewed from railway bridge looking towards the river.
