Sunday 31st.

Waveney Area - The EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL put in another performance on Peto's Marsh Carlton Marsh SWT this afternoon + 3 Water Pipit. A ring-tail Hen Harrier was seen over Camps Marsh Oulton then flew over river towards Whearacre.

Westleton - Single Pink-footed Goose south over the heath.

Minsmere - The Red-necked Grebe continues to show on south scrape + a redhead Smew was noted on west scrape.

North Warren - Great Egret on north marsh.

Wantisden - The female HOODED MERGANSER of unknown origin remain on the pits at Wantisden + Great Egret.

Melton - Raven seen over the Slaughter  House mid-morning.

Needham Market - Raven seen circling over Ravens Grove Dramsden before heading towards Pipps Ford

Bury St Edmunds - 2 Whooper Swan still at Seven Hill Farm just north of Ingham.

Saturday 30th.

Aldeburgh - c650 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on Town Marshes this morning + Pale-Bellied Brent Goose.

Hollesley - 3 Eurasian White-fronted Geese Hollesley Marsh RSPB + adult Caspian Gull.

Sutton - 10 Common Crossbill by Sutton Common car park.

Ipswich - Immature Shag seen along the water front.

Felixstowe - Adult Little Gull off Landguard this morning.

Bury St Edmunds - 2 Whooper Swan at Seven Hills Farm north of Ingham.

Friday 29th.

Waveney Area - 2 Hawfinch again south of Ellough church.

Reydon - 25 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on Reydon Marsh this afternoon.

Hinton - 4 Bewick's Swan by Hinton cross-roads late afternoon.

Stour Estuary - Great Northern Diver still on the river viewable from Stutton Ness.

Great Finborough - 3 Raven at Boyton Hall Farm this morning.

Little Cornard - 10 Eurasian White-fronted Geese still on Shalford Meadow + adult Yellow-legged Gull & 4 Goosander.

Thursday 28th.

Minsmere - Red-necked Grebe still on south scrape + 5 Goosander.

Aldringham - 2 Pink-footed Geese still Aldringham Walks in fields opposite Wardens Cottage.

Felixstowe - 2 Purple Sands north of Manor Terrace car park on groyne 16.

Little Cornard - 10 Eurasian White-fronted Geese Shalford Meadow.

Wednesday 27th.

Waveney Area - No sign of the Glossy Ibis on Barsham Marshes but Great Egret still present. 2 Hawfinch near Ellough church this morning.

Felixstowe - 2 Purple Sands on the point at LBO (photo Will Brame).

Ipswich - Drake Hooded Merganser again on the River Gipping viewed from opposite Tanners View.

Tuesday 26th.

Waveney Area - Glossy Ibis still at Barsham along the western edge of the flooded marsh. 6 Hawfinch SSE of Beccles at Ellough church early afternoon.

Covehithe - Drake Long-tailed Duck still on the broad.

Minsmere - Red-necked Grebe still on south scrape.

Aldringham Walks - 2 Pink-footed Geese still in field opposite Wardens Cottage.

Wickham Market - Great Egret still this morning on Loudham Decoy Pond.

Felixstowe - 2 Purple Sands on the rocky groynes at the north end of the butts.

Monday 25th.

Waveney Area - Glossy Ibis on the west side of Barsham Marshes.

Minsmere - Red-necked Grebe still on south scrape + 4 Whopper Swan, also ring-tail Hen Harrier seen.

Aldeburgh - c650 Eurasian White-fronted Geese on Town Marshes.

Wickham Market - Great Egret seen on Loudham Decoy Pond viewed from Loudham Hall Road.

Orwell Estuary - Raven seen over Levington village + 2 Water Pipit seen near-by at Levington creek.

Sunday 24th.

Waveney Area - The EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL was again seen on Peto's Marsh Carlton Marsh SWT this afternoon.

Aldringham Walks - 2 Pink-footed Geese still in fields opposite Wardens Cottage (photo Dave Fairhurst).

Thorpeness - 11 Goosander still on the Meare.

Stour Estuary - 2 Slavonian Grebe on the river viewable from Stutton Ness.

Willisham - Red Kite over the village at 14:00hrs.

Elmsett - 2 Raven SW over the village 12:40hrs.

Hadleigh - 2 Raven over Wolves Wood (same birds as above ?)

Bury St Edmunds - 2 Whooper Swan east over sevens hills just north of Ingham + Red Kite.

Saturday 23rd.

Waveney Area - The 1st winter Iceland Gull was again seen in flight by the Shell base yard before heading towards Leathes Ham at 07:58hrs. 6 TAIGA BEAN GEESE reported from Carlton Marshes.

Covehithe - Drake Long-tailed Duck still on the broad.

Minsmere - Red-necked Grebe still present on south scrape + 2 Water Pipit & 2 Whooper Swan. 4 Bewick's Swan were present on the scrape until 08:15hrs before flying off NW.

Lakenheath - Cattle Egret still south of river at Lakenheath Fen RSPB c400 yards NNE of the car park late morning (7th day).

Friday 22nd.

Minsmere - Red-necked Grebe on south scrape + 4 Bewick's Swan. Ringtail Hen Harrier seen along the approach road to the reserve near Kings Down Farm.

Little Thurlow - 2 Raven seen over the village.

Thursday 21st.

Blythburgh - 2 Bewick's Swan still east of Hinton off B1125 just SW of five-ways junction.

Dunwich - 15 Snow Bunting still on the beach at Dingle Marshes + 2 Spotted Redshank.

Little Cornard - Raven over Shalford Meadow late afternoon.

Wednesday 20th.

Blythburgh - 2 Bewick's Swan NW of Dunwich Forest just east of Hinton off B1125 SW of Hinton crossroads.

Aldringham Walks - 2 Pink-footed Geese still in fields opposite Wardens Cottage.

Tuesday 19th.

Waveney Area - 4 Hawfinch still south of Ellough Church this morning though mobile. 4 Bewick's Swan on Gillingham Marshes NW of the A146 Beccles by-pass road-bridge.

Aldringham - The 2 Pink-footed Geese remain in fields opposite Wardens Cottage.

Thorpeness - 12 Goosander (3 drake) on the Meare.

Deben Estuary - 2 Water Pipit on salting's at Kyson Point.

Monday 18th.

Waveney Area - c20 Hawfinches south of Ellough church feeding in Yew trees on the opposite side of the road. 3 probable Bewick's Swan seen from moving vehicle along A146 Gillingham church side on marshes near Beccles.

Minsmere - 5 Crossbill along power line ride.

Ipswich - 2 Ring-necked Parakeets still in the old cemetery.

Nayland - A possible RING-BILLED GULL was reported from flooded fields at 15:29hrs.

Elveden - 7 Hawfinches seen by the church early morning.

Sunday 17th.

Waveney Area - EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL again on Petos Marsh.

Minsmere - 2 Bewick's Swan NW at 08:10hrs.

Kirton - SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF still at the sewage works.

Ipswich - Black Redstart in the grounds of Ipswich hospital by the Garrett car park.

Nayland - Raven between Withermarsh and Stoke by Nayland

Saturday 16th.

Waveney Area - The juvenile/1st winter Iceland Gull was noted in the old Shell Base yard, Lowestoft viewed from the brick railway bridge.

Aldringham Walks - 2 Pink-footed Geese still in fields opposite the Wardens Cottage.

Deben Estuary - Red-necked Grebe on the river viewable from the Maybush PH at 15:15hrs + female Greater Scaup still.

Friday 15th.

Waveney Area - 25 Hawfinches seen in the Beccles area today + 10 Hawfinch in trees just SE of Ellough Church near then pond then flew east along River Hundred.

Minsmere - 2 adult Bewicks Swan on the scrape early morning then headed off NW.

North Warren - c650 EWFG on north marsh at dusk.

Aldeburgh - Male Hen Harrier flew onto Aldeburgh Marshes late afternoon. Firecrest in pines at the south end of Kings Warren track by Leiston Road.

Hollesley - 2cy Caspian Gull on the scrape at Hollesley Marsh RSPB +54 EWFG.

Kirton - The SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF (trapped and rung at LBO on 8 Nov 20) was present at the seage works.

Stowmarket - Raven over Boyton Hall, Great Finborough.

Thursday 14th.

Hinton - 2 Bewicks Swan in fields near Hinton Pit

Wednesday 13th.

Southold - Purple Sand still north of the pier.

Dunwich - 11 Snow Bunting on the beach at Dingle Marshes.

Kirton - SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF still at the sewage works.

Tuesday 12th.

Covehithe - The drake Long-tailed Duck continues to show well on the broad.

Minsmere - 4 Whooper Swan still on the reserve.

Deben Estuary - A Red-necked Grebe was seen on the river late afternoon off Kyson Point near buoy 11. 2 Green Sands seen on flooded meadow near Kingsfleet stream

Kirton - The SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF was again seen at the sewage works

Orwell Estuary - c120 EWFG on marshes at Chelmodiston + Water Pipit at Levington Creek.

Great Finborough - 2 Raven seen near Stowmarket at Boyton Hall at Great Finborough / Combs this morning.

Cornard - 2 Raven seen over Cornard Mere this afternoon.

Brecks - 3rd winter Caspian Gull noted on Fornham St. Martin golf course.

Monday 11th.

Covehithe - The drake Long-tailed Duck continues to show on the broad.

Southwold - Purple Sand still 300yards north of the pier still.

Walberswick - Ringtail Hen Harrier + 2 Great Egret this highlights this morning.

Felixstowe - A Shag flew over LBO and into the river.

Sunday 10th.

Waveney Area - The 1st winter Iceland Gull was again in Hamilton Dock at 15:20hrs on rocks below the tideline below the SLP yard.

Southwold - Purple Sand on sea defences north of the pier at 12:15hrs.

Westleton - Ringtail Hen Harrier over the heath.

Minsmere - 4 Whooper Swan on the scrape + Water Pipit.

Deben Estuary - 2 Pale-bellied Brent Geese amongst Dark-bellied Brent Geese at Kirton.

Felixstowe - A SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF (sporting a ring) was noted on the peninsula today.

Saturday 9th.

Waveney Area - The 1st winter Iceland Gull was again seen in Lowestoft harbour between 16:00 - 16:30hrs then flew north. Juvenile Common Crane seen in fields at Rushmere between Kessingland and Mutford.

Dunwich - 7 Tundra Bean Geese low north over the village at 09:38hrs. 16 Snow Bunting on Dingle beach + 8 Twite. 3 Great Egret in the reed-beds and 2 Long-tailed Duck on the sea close inshore at 09:53hrs.

Minsmere - 7 Tundra Bean Geese north c09:30hrs + Short-eared Owl.

Butley - Great Egret still Staverton Pools.

Sudbourne - Juvenile ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD on Sudbourne Marshes + 45 EWFG, single Pink-footed Goose and a Short-eared Owl.

Hollesley - A Great Northern Diver was present on the river by the outlet early afternoon + c200 EWFG still present.

Shirley - 5 Bewicks Swan ( 3 adult) at Gifford's Flash

Friday 8th.

Reydon - Juvenile Common Crane on Reydon Marshes until midday then flew north.

Walberswick - Juvenile Common Crane seen by the allotments before flying north early morning (see above).

Minsmere - 3 Whooper Swan on East scrape + 2 Goosander.

Deben Estuary - Female Greater Scaup still on the river viewed from Waldringfield.

Bawdsey - 2 Purple Sands on sea defences just north of the lagoons at East Lane.

Thursday 7th.

Blythburgh - 28 EWFG on Blyth Estuary at Bulcamp Marshes + Spotted Redshank. Water Pipit at Hen Reedbeds.

Aldringham - 2 Pink-footed Geese still in winter wheat fields between Aldringham Walks - Sizewell.

Hollesley - 12 Tundra Bean Geese still on Hollesley Marsh RSPB from the screen late afternoon + c130 EWFG & adult Caspian Gull noted.

Orwell Estuary - Whimbrel at Levington Creek west of creek + Water Pipit.

Wednesday 6th.

Waveney Area - 7 Snow Bunting on the beach at Kessingland.

Dunwich - 6 Snow Bunting at Dingle Marshes + Velvet Scoter & c250 Common Scoter offshore.

Aldringham - 2 Bewicks Swan east over the village at 09:30hrs. 2 Pink-footed Geese still in arable fields opposite Warden's Cottage's + 14 Goosander (3 drake) north heading to roost at Minsmere.

Hollesley - 15 Tundra Bean Geese Hollesley Marsh RSPB until 10:50hrs then flew north + c250 EWFG.

Bawdsey - A juvenile Common Crane was seen to come in off at East Lane and briefly settle on arable fields north of the lagoons, the bird then flew north early afternoon + 2 Purple Sands still on the sea defences.

Stowmarket - Merlin seen over fields & near-by railway line by Muntons.

Tuesday 5th.

No news to report today.

Monday 4th.

Minsmere - Single Common Crossbill along the power ride.

Thorpeness - 6 Goosander ( 2 drake) on the Meare + 9 Goosander over.

Stour Estuary - Great Northern Diver on the river below Stutton Church.

Sunday 3rd.

Waveney Area - The EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL was again on Peto's Marsh from 14:00hrs. 1st winter Iceland Gull (presumably the same bird seen at Oulton Broad late Dec 2020) was seen in Lowestoft harbour viewed from Hamilton Road between 15:21 - 16:03hrs, near-by 3 Purple Sands at Ness Point.

Covehithe - Drake Long-tailed Duck still on the broad.

Dunwich - 6 Twite still on the beach at Dingle Marshes + 3 EWFG on the konik field.

Aldringham - 2 Pink-footed Geese in arable fields opposite site entrance to Wardens Cottage.

Orfordness - The juvenile ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD was reported again from the sea wall opposite the aerials late afternoon.

Hollesley - 12 Tundra Bean Geese still at Hollesley Marsh RSPB + c200 EWFG.

Butley - The female HOODED MERGANSER continues to show on the pools at Staverton + Great Egret.

Felixstowe - 47 EWFG north off LBO this morning.

Chelmodiston - 12 Corn Bunting seen on telegraph wires along Lings Lane at 09:05hrs.

Stour Estuary - Great Northern Diver from Stutton Ness near red buoy 4 though distant.

Brecks - Single EWFG at Micklemere + 2 EWFG still between Cavenham and Tuddenham viewed from entrance to Marstons Pit entrance. 5 Caspian Gull (3w, 2 x 2w + 1w) Tuddenham St. Mary in pig fields. 2 Caspian Gull at Lackford Lakes this afternoon.

Saturday 2nd

Waveney Area - EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL again on Peto's Marsh Carlton Marshes from 15:05hrs. 3 Hawfinch Sotterly Park in tree by gatehouse this morning. 

Covehithe - Drake Long-tailed Duck still on the broad.

Wrentham - 8 Whooper Swan west over West End Farm at 13:30hrs.

Southwold - 25 Tundra Bean Geese on Town Marshes (Wenhaston birds) + 3 EWFG.

Reydon - Ring-tail Hen Harrier seen at dusk at Cove Bottom. 

Blythburgh - Caspian Gull + Green Sand at the pig fields.

Wenhaston - 25 Tundra Bean Geese still present along Wenhaston Lane.

Dunwich - 6 Velvet Scoter offshore from Dingle Marshes + Bonxie, 3 Twite amongst the Linnet flock & 3 Great Egret within the reed-beds.

North Warren - 237 EWFG on North Marsh

Alde Estuary - Water Pipit on Town Marshes + c50 EWFG.

Orfordness - Juvenile ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD on the NT reserve + adult male Hen Harrier & SEO Lantern Marshes.

Hollesley - 12 Tundra Bean Geese still Hollesley Marsh RSPB + 225 EWFG. Raven over Hollesley Common.

Deben Estuary - Greater Scaup still on the river viewable from Waldringfield + Black-necked Grebe still present.

Felixstowe - Shag flew over LBO then upriver.

Orwell Estuary - 2 Jack Snipe Trimley Managed Retreat.

Baylham - Drake Goosander still on Causeway Lake.

Brecks - 2 EWFG viewable from Marstons pit entrance, Cavenham. 2 female Goosander Worlington fishing lake.

Friday 1st.

Waveney Area - EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL still Peto's Marsh Carlton Marshes + 2 Great Egret & c40 EWFG north over the visitor centre. 2 Waxwing reported by the new housing estate along Ellough Road. 4 Hawfinch Sotterley Park.

Benacre - c100 Pink-footed Geese in off.

Covehithe - Drake Long-tailed Duck remains on the broad.

Wenhaston - 25 Tundra Bean Geese still between A12 and Wenhaston Lane.

Minsmere - 3 Whooper Swan on Is.mere.

Butley - Female HOODED MERGANSER (presumably the same female from Christchurch Park) still on Staverton Pools + Great Egret.

Hollesley - 12 Tundra Bean Geese still Hollesley Marsh RSPB + single Pink-footed Goose & c200 EWFG.

Deben Estuary - 17 EWFG along Martlesham Creek.

Felixstowe - Long-tailed Duck seen off LBO.

Orwell Estuary - Black-necked Grebe reported on Loompit Lake late afternoon

Stour Estuary - Great Northern Diver and Slavonian Grebe viewable from Stutton Ness.

Baylham - Drake Goosander Causeway Lake
