Minsmere - The 6 Glossy Ibis continue to please around the reserve

Reydon - Further Glossy Ibis noted over The Drive at 3.10pm

Lackford SWT - 3 BLACK-WINGED STILT on the Slough this evening

Lakenheath - Cattle Egret again

Waveney Area - Quail singing at North Denes, still present and singing this evening. Great Egret at Flixton GP's

Felixstowe - Hen Harrier, ring tail around Holm Hill Kingsfleet prior to drifting over towards Old Felixstowe

Friday 27th

Waveney Area - HONEY BUZZARD over mid morning

Minsmere - 5 Glossy Ibis on West scrape, plus further bird reported on North levels

Walberswick - PURPLE HERON still on North marsh between 1st and 2nd bund

North Warren - 2 Spoonbills on South marsh

Thursday 26th

Kingsfleet - PURPLE HERON seen to land in dyke at 09:30, and over fishing club towards Deben Lodge at 16:53 (photo c/o Will Brame)

Walberswick - PURPLE HERON at 11:23 perched on bushes, and noted again at 12:13 when flew to reedbed, with 2 Common Cranes observed at 10:50am

Minsmere - Wood Sand noted flying over levels this morning

Southwold - Buss Creek drake Garganey and Wood Sand

Waveney Area - Great Egret, 4 Garganey (3 drakes) and LRP Carlton Marshes

Wednesday 25th

Waveney Area - 2 Garganey (both drakes) remains at Carlton Msrshes.

Southwold, Buss Creek Flashes - Wood Sandpiper at 16:50

Minsmere - Bonxie noted offshore chasing Terns distantly before heading South this morning

Tuesday 24th

Dunwich - 5 Common Crane on grazing marsh viewable from Bridge Farm track.

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis on west scrape + 2 Common Crane north over the car park at 08:45hrs, also a Temminck's Stint was reported briefly on south scrape this afternoon. 2 Cattle Egret on south levels viewed from the ruins

North Warren - 3 Common Crane north at 09:12hrs.

Boyton - Female RED-FOOTED FALCON drifted over the new scrape viewable from the river wall shortly after 14:00hrs.

Alton Water - Summer plumage Slavonian Grebe still on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place.

Monday 23rd

Minsmere - Adult Roseate Tern again on south scrape + 6 Glossy Ibis on the reserve & Cattle Egret north.

Sunday 22nd.

Minsmere - The adult Roseate Tern was again present on south scrape this morning.

Alde Estuary - 4 Spoonbill at Hazelwood Marshes this afternoon.

Boyton - Spoonbill at Boyton Marshes this afternoon.

Hollesley - The Glossy Ibis continues to show on flooded meadow viewed from Warren Hill, also present was a fine summer-plumage Cattle Egret & 3 Great Egret were seen to fly south.

Wantisden - 3 BEE-EATER's were seen and heard over Wantisden Park at 10:40hrs.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe still on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place.

Saturday 21st

Waveney Area - 2 Common Crane over Carlton Marshes at 0745hrs then seen south over Kessingland levels at 0810hrs.

Walberswick - 3 BEE-EATER's seen north over Westwood Marsh at 0858hrs. 2 Common Crane on marsh viewed from Stone House Dingle.

Minsmere - Roseate Tern on south scrape.

Boyton - 3 Spoonbill again at Boyton Marshes though mobile.

Hollesley - Glossy Ibis present on flooded meadow viewed from Warren Hill prison + Little Stint on the scrape.

Elmsett - A male HONEY BUZZARD was seen over the village heading SW at 1757hrs.

Friday 20th.

Waveney Area - Drake Garganey still at Carlton Marshes from North Hide + Wood Sandpiper.

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis still on the reserve though mobile.

Thursday 19th.

Waveny Area - Glaucous Gull north over Lowestoft North Beach at 19:24hrs.

Minsmere - A Roseate Tern was seen over the scrape before heading off north + 2 Glossy Ibis on the reserve though mobile.

Boyton - 3 Spoonbill again Boyton Marshes.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe still present opposite Tattingstone Place.

Wednesday 18th.

Waveney Area - 2 Great Egret Carlton Marshes + Wood Sand & Garganey.

Minsmere - 3 Common Crane north over the reserve at 11:00hrs.

Boyton - Adult Spoonbill Boyton Marshes.

Alton Water - Slavonian Grebe still on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place

Tuesday 17th.

Waveney Area - Garganey still present at Carlton Marshes SWT + Wood Sand.

Minsmere - 3 Glossy Ibis remain viewable from North Hide.

Boyton - 4 Spoonbill Boyton Marshes viewable from the river wall.

Hollesley - Wood Sand on the scrape viewable from the screen.

Felixstowe - Black Redstart within the dock complex by the Central Rail in gates

Alton Water - The Slavonian Grebe continues to show on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place.

Monday 16th.

Southwold - Female Ring Ouzel seen by Buss Creek in area of burnt gorse though elusive.

Minsmere - 4 Glossy Ibis still on the reserve from North Hide + Spoonbill & 2 Curlew Sands on the scrape early morning.

Boyton - 2 BEE-EATER north over Boyton Marshes at 11:28hrs.

Sunday 15th.

Waveney Area - 2 Red-breasted Geese on Peto's Marsh Carlton Marshes.

Walberswick - 2 Common Crane over Dingle Marshes then headed south.

Dunwich - Ring Ouzel seen on the heath

Minsmere - 5 BEE-EATER's north over the reserve at 08:50hrs before briefly dropping in along the North Wall before continuing on there journey north at 08:57hrs. 3+ Glossy Ibis remain + 2 Curlew Sand on the scrape. 2 Common Crane over Island Mere then headed north at 12:56hrs. 2 Red-breasted Geese of unknown origin flew south over the reserve shortly after 15:00hrs

Westleton - 2 Common Crane circled over the village and headed NW 13:05hrs.

Westhall - 2 Common Crane over Mill Common at 13:25hrs

Sizewell - 5 BEE-EATER's heard over Sizewell Hall at 08:30hrs.

North Warren - 5 BEE-EATER's seen low north over Sluice Cottage at 08:20hrs.

Boyton - 3 Spoonbill present at Boyton Marshes at 16:00hrs at least.

Hollesley - Spoonbill from the viewing screen.

Shingle Street - BEE-EATER seen and heard over the cottages by the Martello Tower at 14:50hrs before drifting off south.

Bawdsey - BEE-EATER heard only over East Lane at 14:57hrs

Fressingfield - 17 (seventeen) BEE-EATER's present on wires in the village late afternoon for approx. 90 minutes then flushed by a Sparrowhawk (Photos c/o David Tomlinson).

Saturday 14th.

Benacre - Spotted Fly by Beach Farm.

Wangford- A BLACK KITE was seen over the A12 at 1658hrs heading towards Cove Bottom.

Walberswick - A Curlew Sand was present on Corporation Marshes this evening with Dunlin and Ringed Plover then flew south.

Dunwich - A GOLDEN ORIOLE was reported from the heath this morning.

Minsmere - A GOLDEN ORIOLE was heard calling by the south belt cross roads at 1500hrs, also 5 Glossy Ibises now on the reserve, 4 from North Hide + 1 on the konik field this afternoon. 2 Common Crane were seen over the reserve before heading North at 1040hrs.

Eastbridge - A GOLDEN ORIOLE was heard singing early morning by the Eels Foot Inn.

North Warren - The lone Eurasian White-fronted Goose remains on South Marsh amongst the Greylag Geese.

Felixstowe - 2 Whinchat and 3 Spotted Flycatchers at LBO + Purple Sand on the point.

Friday 13th.

Waveney Area - Male Whinchat and Black Redstart seen by the net posts at Lowestoft. 3 Spoonbill north over Ness Point at 1857hrs then seen over Hopton at 19905hrs

Southwold - Little Stint still on Buss Creek flash + 3 Wood Sandpiper.

Dunwich - 2 RED-RUMPED SWALLOWS were seen over Coastguards Cafe late morning before drifting off SW.

Minsmere - The adult PURPLE HERON was again seen over the main reed bed viewed from Bittern Hide, also 4 Glossy Ibis and 2 Spotted Redshank on the reserve + 2 Spoonbill over.

Thursday 12th.

Waveney Area -A  PURPLE HERON was at Lound Lakes then flew towards Burgh Castle at 0838hrs. RED-RUMPED SWALLOW seen south along the cliff face at Kessingland mid morning. 2 Common Crane north over the visitor centre at Carlton Marshes.

Southwold - 3 Wood Sands and single Little Stint on the western flash at Buss Creek.

Minsmere - An adult PURPLE HERON was seen in flight and landed in the reed bed just east of Island Mere at 1125hrs + 4 Glossy Ibis on the levels this afternoon.

Boyton- Spoonbill again on Boyton Marshes this afternoon.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand still in the flooded meadow by Warren Hill / Grove Farm.

Felixstowe - The first Spotted Flycatcher of the year was noted at LBO today (photo c/o Rob Speirs)


Wednesday 11th.

Waveney Area - Little Stint on Peto's Marsh Carlton SWT this morning.

Minsmere - 4 Glossy Ibis on West Scrape late morning + 2 Common Crane again over the reserve & Spotted Redshank on East Scrape.

Snape - A HONEY BUZZARD was seen and photographed over Snape Warren this afternoon.

Hollesley - 2 Wood Sand still on the flooded meadow by Warren Hill

Trimley Marshes - Temminck's Stint on the winter flood though elusive.

Ixworth - 2 Wood Sand still on Micklemere.

Tuesday 10th.

Waveney Area - Little Stint on Flixton GP's this evening.

Minsmere - 2 Common Crane seen around the reserve today.

Ixworth - 2 Wood Sands at Micklemere.

Common Swift - A noticeable arrival of the species in the county were noted both yesterday and today.

Monday 9th.
Waveney Area - 3 Common Crane north over Earsham at 0825hrs.
Boyton - 3 Spoonbill on the flash
Hollesley - Spoonbill on the scrape + 3 Wood Sands on the flooded meadow viewed from the dirt track by Warren Hill.
Grundisburgh - Osprey north over Post Mill Gardens at 1730hrs, also probably seen over Martlesham at 1715hrs
Lakenheath - A male MONTAGU'S HARRIER was seen over the reserve at 1230hrs.

Sunday 8th.

Waveney Area - Garganey still at Carlton Marshes + Wood Sand.

Southwold - Adult LESSER YELLOWLEGS still on Buss Creek flash.

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis still present on the konik field + Osprey north over Island Mere late morning.

Sizewell - A BEE-EATER was heard 3x over houses just west of Sizewell Hall at 1600hrs.

North Warren - Spoonbill north at 0735hrs 

Boyton - Cattle Egret still Boyton Marshes viewable from the river wall + 2 Spotted Redshank.

Melton - Raven seen circling and calling over Leeks Hill mid afternoon.

Saturday 7th.

Southwold - The adult LESSER YELLOWLEGS continues to show on Buss Creek flash + Wood Sandpiper.

Minsmere - Glossy Ibis still on the konik field.

Havergate - 2 Temminck's Stint N over the RSPB island at 1040hrs.

Boyton - Cattle Egret still present on Boyton Marshes viewable from the river wall + 2 Spoonbill & Spot Red noted.

Hollesley - 4 Wood Sands on flooded Meadow below Grove Farm, view from dirt track by Warren Hill.

Felixstowe - SERIN briefly over LBO mid morning.

Alton Water - Summer plumage Slavonian Grebe still opposite Tattingstone Place.

Rougham - A WHITE STORK was seen east over Rougham Industrial Estate (near Bury St. Edmunds) at 1650hrs.

Friday 6th.

Southwold - Adult LESSER YELLOWLEGS still present and showing well on Buss Creek flash.

Minsmere - 3 Common Crane north over the reserve, also seen over Dunwich Heath (Mount Pleasant)

Orford - A BLACK KITE was seen south at 1053hrs. 3 BLACK-WINGED STILTS on Orfordness on airfield marsh then flew south at 0845hrs

Boyton - The BLACK KITE that was noted over Orford was also seen from Boyton Marshes at 1110hrs

Hollesley - No sign of the Pectoral Sandpiper but 9+ Wood Sands remain.

Thursday 5th.

Waveney Area - 2 Great Egret north over Beccles Road, Lowestoft at 0753hrs.

Southwold - The adult LESSER YELLOWLEGS continues to show well on the flash just north of the Bailey Bridge. A Wood Warbler was seen briefly early morning along the Easton Bavents footpath.

Westleton - Short-eared Owl seen over the heath mod afternoon.

Minsmere - News broke shortly after 1600hrs of a Lesser Golden Plover on west scrape, the bird which was thought to be a PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER flew high north at 1722hrs + Ring Ouzel still just south of the sluice.

Boyton - Cattle Egret still at Boyton Marshes + drake Garganey.

Hollesley - The Pectoral Sandpiper continues to show distantly from the dirt track by Warren Hill + up to 10 Wood Sands present.

Alton Water - The Slavonian Grebe continues to show on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place.

Wednesday 4th.

Southwold - The adult LESSER YELLOWLEGS continued to show on the flashes west of the path that leads to the Bailey Bridge + Wood Sand.

Minsmere - 2 Glossy Ibis on north marsh early morning.

Sizewell - A singing Wood Warbler was heard early morning only from Silver Birch's just west of Sizewell Hall.

Aldeburgh - Singing Wood Warbler was heard in Oaks by The Red House. Access off (Golf Lane) B1122 Leiston Road. Please respect residents privacy.

Hollesley - Pectoral Sandpiper still showing distntly from Warren Hill prison + 5 Wood Sands.

Tuesday 3rd

Waveney Area - 6 Wood Sands on Peto's Marsh between Turnpike and North Hide.

Southwold - LESSER YELLOWLEGS present on the flash at 1640hrs though mobile.

Westleton - Pied Flycatcher along the bridleway south of Mount Pleasant.

Minsmere - 4 Ring Ouzels over Whin Hill mid morning + up to 3 Glossy Ibises reported around the reserve.

North Warren - Whinchat on north marsh viewable from north watch lookout screen.

Sudbourne - Cattle Egret amongst Cattle on Sudbourne Marshes.

Boyton - Adult Spoonbill still present at Boyton Marshes but no sign of any Cattle Egret

Hollesley - The Pectoral Sandpiper remains on the wet meadows viewable distantly from Warren Hill prison, also up to 6 Wood Sands & 2 LRP present. Please view only from track and do not enter fields.

Felixstowe - Female Ring Ouzel + Whinchat at LBO.

Alton Water - Summer plumage Slavonian Grebe still on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place.

Great Barton - A singing Wood Warbler was heard only from a private residential area with no general access.

Monday 2nd

Minsmere - Drake RING-NECKED DUCK present on Island Mere. 2 Glossy Ibis still on the reserve though mobile.

Boyton - 3 Cattle Egret at Boyton Marshes viewable from the river wall, also Spoonbill, Great Egret & 14 Bar-tailed Godwits noted.

Hollesley - The Pectoral Sandpiper continued to show distantly from Warren Hill prison track, also 6 Wood Sands on the RSPN reserve (photo c/o Peter Lakey)

Bawdsey - Common Redstart seen at Bawdsey Manor early morning.

Alton Water - Summer plumage Slavonian Grebe still on the reservoir opposite Tattingstone Place.



Sunday 1st

Southwold - Wood Sand still on the flash + Ring Ouzel still in fields to the west.

Hollesley - A Pectoral Sandpiper was found on the RSPB reserve this afternoon and remained into the evening, also 3 Wood Sands present.

Bawdsey - Ring Ouzel at East Lane early morning.

Melton - Raven low over Leeks Hill, also seen over Bredfield Rd.

Woolverstone - A HOOPOE was briefly present in a private garden within the village.
